Amir
Amir is a blond Dwarf assassin whose first Slayer mission is to abduct Colette for Twilight Rain. His defeat by Eiko and friendship with the undead Sid persuade Lux to spare him and turn him into a double agent instead.
Biography
The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss
Newly raised to E-Ranker status with Twilight Rain’s support, Amir ambushes Colette because he expects only two Initiates to guard her. Eiko’s Terrorist Squad defeats his Rank 5 Alpha Vulture, and a one-use teleport artifact saves Amir from the explosion that appears to kill him. Captured and tortured for intelligence, he betrays his local network but receives an unexpected reprieve when Sid, his former rival and closest friend, asks Lux for mercy. Amir accepts a blood-bound role as Lux’s mole, receives a Deimos-Ranked Wyvern to replace his dead companion, and helps redirect Twilight Rain’s suspicion toward its own agents. His survival thus costs him organizational loyalty and binds his future conduct to information warfare. (Chapters 717–721, 723, 725, 735–736)
Appearance and personality
Amir is a blond, blue-eyed Dwarf who can pass as an ordinary adventurer until he strikes. He is ambitious, proud of becoming a Slayer, and initially confident in surprise attacks, but adapts quickly when faced with overwhelming force. He tries suicide rather than interrogation, showing harsh guild conditioning, yet fear and Sid’s appeal expose a strong desire to live. His affection for Sid is genuine enough to influence both men, while his acceptance of the mole arrangement is pragmatic rather than ideological conversion. (Chapters 716–720)
Abilities and skills
Amir is an E-Ranker and trained assassin who accelerates explosively from a casual approach, grabs targets in one fluid motion, and uses a dagger for rapid killing strikes. His original Beast Companion is a Rank 5 Alpha Black-Crowned Vulture, giving him aerial mobility, though Amir is less proficient in open aerial combat than in surprise attacks. A grappling hook lets him remain attached to the mount, and a thought-activated consumable artifact randomly teleports him within one kilometer when a lethal strike is imminent; it works only once for a given user. These defenses save him from Eiko but cannot prevent capture by an Argonaut-Ranked Nightgaunt. Lux later supplies a Deimos-Ranked Wyvern, yet the corpus does not show Amir mastering it in combat. (Chapters 716–719)
Relationships
- Sid — Amir’s former Reaper rival, idol, and closest friend. Sid’s plea secures Amir’s life and gives him enough confidence to accept Lux’s offer. (Chapters 718–720)
- Lux — Amir’s captor and covert employer. Lux extracts his intelligence, binds him with a blood oath, and offers greater resources in exchange for service as a mole. (Chapters 718–721)
- Colette — Amir’s intended kidnapping victim. Underestimating her protectors causes his first Slayer mission to fail catastrophically. (Chapters 716–718)
- Eiko — The defender who destroys Amir’s mount and nearly kills him with explosives, forcing him to expend his only teleport escape. (Chapters 716–718)
- Twilight Rain — The Dark Guild that promotes Amir and supplies his mission and escape artifact, but becomes the target of the intelligence he provides Lux. (Chapters 716, 718–725)
