Alexa

Alexa is the eldest daughter of Great General Garret and Sarah. Near Lux in age, she becomes the composed older sister during her family’s flight from the Haca capital and later builds a new life within Heaven’s Gate.

Biography

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Alexa is caring for Leah when Sarah returns with evacuation orders, and she responds to the danger by packing travel clothes, securing important belongings, and taking her youngest sister away before Ronan enters. After Lux and Eiko move the household out of the capital, Alexa reunites with her altered father and learns that the family’s trusted “uncle” tried to attack Sarah. In the Blackrock Clan she focuses Emily on the fact that their family is together rather than enslaved or divided, then asks Lux what future remains open to them. Her composure helps the sisters adapt from protected noble life to membership in a new, mixed-species guild community. (Chapters 618–621, 624, 630, 634, 638)

Open Heaven’s Gate

After the final war, Alexa and Emily are both secretly dating Gerhart. Garret discovers the relationship and confronts him, but Gerhart openly acknowledges both sisters rather than hiding behind the apparently innocent card game that exposed them. By the later wedding gathering, Alexa and Emily are set to marry him after Gerhart defeats Garret in a close fight and earns the father’s approval. Alexa’s epilogue thus resolves the uncertainty she voiced after losing her Haca home: she remains connected to her family and Heaven’s Gate while choosing a shared romantic future accepted, however reluctantly, by Garret. (Chapters 1229, 1234)

Appearance and personality

Alexa is a teenage girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes, a year older than Lux and the eldest of three sisters. Her noble upbringing shows in her curtsy and measured social conduct. She is responsible, observant, curious, and emotionally steady under displacement, often helping younger relatives process events rather than centering herself. Her later secret courtship shows independence, but the epilogue still places value on winning Garret’s recognition rather than severing family ties. (Chapters 617–619, 630, 785, 1229–1234)

Abilities and skills

The corpus gives Alexa no formal rank, named skill, spell, or personal combat scene. She can use a storage ring to secure important possessions during the evacuation and has the practical education expected of a high-ranking noble’s daughter, but those are not evidence of supernatural power. She depends on Sarah, Lux, Eiko, and the combatants for physical safety during the Haca crisis. The later fight for permission to marry is between Gerhart and Garret, not Alexa, so it does not establish a hidden combat level for her. Her demonstrated strengths are judgment, emergency composure, household responsibility, and social training. (Chapters 619–621, 624, 785, 1234)

Relationships

  • Great General Garret and Sarah — Alexa’s parents. She helps protect the younger children during their separation and remains within the reunited household. (Chapters 619–624)
  • Leah and Emily — Her younger sisters. Alexa packs for Leah, guides Emily toward gratitude after displacement, and eventually shares a relationship with Gerhart alongside Emily. (Chapters 619–620, 630, 1229–1234)
  • Lux — Alexa’s rescuer and later guild leader. She trusts his protection, speaks to him without honorifics at his request, and asks him about the family’s future. (Chapters 619–624, 630)
  • Ronan — A former family friend whose attack on Sarah and designs upon Alexa destroy the household’s trust in him. (Chapters 620, 624, 630)
  • Gerhart — Alexa and Emily’s shared partner and eventual husband, accepted after he honestly faces and defeats Garret. (Chapters 1229, 1234)
