Array Path Nine Hundred Scrolls

The Array Path Nine Hundred Scrolls, usually called the Array Path, is Chehou Yuan's foundational formation treatise. Its nine hundred information-dense golden scrolls organize the principles and examples from which a student can begin developing genuine array comprehension.

History

Acquisition, use, and later custody

Uncle Fu shows Qin Yu the Array Path among the thousands of golden scrolls preserved with the Bewitching God Temple's core. Chehou Yuan left the set for his successor as the first essential step toward artifact craftsmanship. Qin Yu postpones serious study until after ascending to the Divine Realm, then reads the scrolls and spends long accelerated periods analyzing, discarding, and rebuilding his understanding rather than treating the text as a set of instantly usable techniques. The treatise guides Qin Yu through killing, defensive, and especially trapping arrays. Uncle Fu supplements it with Chehou Yuan's warnings and his own immense experience, prompting Qin Yu to abandon a premature first-stage comprehension and test theory against ever more complicated examples. That training supports Qin Yu's defenses at Mount Bewitch You and his later artifact-crafting rise. His level-nine formation Universe, however, is his own synthesis of array study with the spatial laws of his Universal World, not a finished formula copied from the scrolls. The physical set remains part of the temple archive under Qin Yu's control. (Chapters 498–567)

Abilities and properties

• The set divides arrays into killing, defensive, and trapping categories. More than five hundred scrolls concern trapping arrays, over two hundred concern defensive arrays, and only a little over one hundred concern killing arrays. (Chapter 494)
• Only a small portion gives direct setup or breaking instructions. Most of the enormous text consists of worked examples and detailed analysis that progress from basic formations to increasingly complicated combinations. (Chapter 494)
• Finishing the nine hundred scrolls is only the entry point to the first stage of the Array Path, not mastery. Accurate comprehension requires patience, broad comparison, practical experimentation, and the willingness to discard a flawed foundation. (Chapters 484, 498, 504–505)
• Uncle Fu knows the scrolls nearly word for word and writes a much larger set of personal commentaries, but his puppet body has no soul and cannot achieve a true stage of comprehension. This distinguishes custody and memorization from mastery. (Chapter 485)
