Aria's Circlet

Aria's Circlet is the Holy Item associated with Aria, goddess of prophecy, and the office held by Melody. Its intrinsic powers are not demonstrated in the supplied corpus; its decisive material role is as the circlet Kang Woojin transforms into Thrash's Glory.

History and role

Incomplete succession and uncertain custody

Before the Circlet is named, Melody explains that a Holy Item is the symbol of power given to a god's closest servant and intended avatar. Her predecessor's item had been stolen by Woojin, and enemy control of Aria's high temple prevented Melody from completing her succession or receiving her own. Melody later returns from the temple after acquiring Aria's Holy Item, but when Woojin asks for it she says that she has lost it. The text does not narrate when, how, or to whom that loss occurs. By the time Woojin retakes his Colony, the Circlet is in his possession, though its recovery is also not shown. He hands it to Melody after Aria removes her Holy Power. Melody can still sense energy in the item, but it feels completely different from before and does not restore her missing ability. The scene shows a temporary handoff for examination; because Woojin later has the Circlet again, it does not establish lasting transfer back to Melody. (Chapter 87)

Transformation into Thrash's Glory

Woojin ultimately places Aria's Holy Item with purchased ingredients in the Combination Box. The components merge into a crown, and a skull completes the circlet's transformation into Thrash's Glory, the final piece of Thrash's Set. Aria's Circlet therefore ceases to exist as a separate item, while the resulting crown contributes to the completed set's activation. (Chapter 90)

Abilities and properties

• Symbol of office: Holy Items mark the closest servants who act as their gods' avatars. Melody's lack of the item leaves her succession as Holy Maiden incomplete, but the corpus does not isolate which of her abilities specifically depended on the Circlet. (Chapter 79)
• Perceptible energy: Even after losing her Holy Power, Melody senses energy while holding the Circlet. The changed sensation neither identifies the energy nor demonstrates a restored blessing. (Chapter 87)
