Biography

From therapist to bishop

Hamilton accepts Titan Guild's confidential request to treat a rescued woman with apparent global aphasia, approaching the work through drawing and patient observation. She soon hears Melody's voice directly in her mind even though the Holy Maiden's lips do not move and the nearby secretary hears nothing. That unexpected communication makes Hamilton the first person in the room able to understand Melody's request and turns an ordinary therapeutic consultation into her introduction to Aria's power. (Chapter 21)

Hamilton had lived with a congenital deformity that kept her from using her legs and required a wheelchair. Melody's miracle restores her ability to walk, overturning the therapist's earlier trust in human solutions over deities and making her one of Aria's most fervent believers. She joins the emerging church, defends the Holy Maiden's status during negotiations, and begins learning the etiquette and responsibilities of service while watching other patients receive healing.
