Greed
Greed is a general-grade shadow soldier raised from the S-rank hunter Dongsoo Hwang. His name, punishment, and brief service deliberately invert Dongsoo's final choices: a man who abused power for revenge becomes an obedient commander whose strength belongs to the person he tried to hurt.
Biography

Greed is raised after Jinwoo kills Dongsoo for abducting and torturing Jinho Yoo. Jinwoo's fury does not end with defeating him: he extracts the dead hunter so the power Dongsoo used selfishly can no longer threaten Jinho or escape responsibility through death. The new shadow recognizes Jinwoo as king and asks for a name (Chapter 56).
Jinwoo chooses “Greed” as a judgment on the desires that caused Dongsoo's death—revenge, pride, and the belief that strength entitled him to take another person's life. Naming therefore functions as sentence as well as identity, unlike the affectionate or practical names given to many other shadows (Chapter 56).
Jinwoo initially disciplines Greed by forcing him to maintain a humiliating prostrated posture. Greed obeys without preserving Dongsoo's defiance. He can still access memories from his living existence, however, and answers Jinwoo's questions about Dongsoo's encounter with Ilhwan Sung. The shadow supplies testimony the dead man would never have volunteered, helping Jinwoo understand that his father protected him from an enemy (Chapters 56–57).
The Monarch War Begins
Greed becomes one of the Shadow Army's division leaders, commanding soldiers outside the specialized knight, ant, high-orc, naga, giant, and ice-bear formations. Jinwoo thus uses his general-grade intelligence and the authority retained from an S-rank hunter rather than keeping him as a ceremonial prisoner (Chapters 61–62).
Although Greed initially shares Beru's general grade, he is openly intimidated by the ant commander and avoids meeting his gaze. Rank labels do not erase differences in experience, combat ability, or personality. Greed later joins Jinwoo's original named shadows when they kneel before the inherited army, placing his recent and punitive origin inside the same broader allegiance (Chapters 62, 67).
War with the Dragon King and the Rewritten World
Greed cannot accompany Jinwoo into the second war created by time reversal. Because Dongsoo's death has not happened at the restored point in history, the shadow has no origin from which to persist. He disappears with the other human-derived shadows, and Igris remembers trying to console him before the remaining army departs. The erasure ends Greed's service but also means the torture and revenge that created him never occur in the new world (Chapters 75–76).
Appearance and personality
Greed appears as a large, powerful humanoid shadow in the armored form common to Jinwoo's elite ranks. His general-grade status is communicated more through speech and command than unique ornament; the source gives him little distinct visual detail beyond the dark body and vapor of the army (Chapters 56, 62).
He is submissive toward Jinwoo and accepts both his punitive name and discipline. The personality is not simply Dongsoo's continued hostility: shadow allegiance redirects him completely, though preserved memories remain available. His fear of Beru adds a comic vulnerability and shows that equal rank does not make him the equal of the army's strongest personalities (Chapters 56–57, 62).

Physical power
Greed is extracted from an S-rank hunter and begins at general grade, above the initial rank of most named shadows. His shadow body retains the basis of Dongsoo's exceptional strength and durability, making him suitable for close combat and command even though the text gives him no extended independent duel (Chapters 56, 62).
Intelligence, memory, and command
General grade gives Greed speech and enough independent judgment to lead a mixed division. He recalls information from life, answers questions, understands humiliation, and recognizes stronger personalities within the army. His usefulness is therefore not limited to raw force (Chapters 56–57, 62).
Shadow traits and limitations
Greed can reside in shadow, obey mental orders, and regenerate from ordinary damage through Jinwoo's mana. His loyalty is magically absolute, which removes Dongsoo's former independence as surely as extraction removes death. Time reversal exposes a deeper limit: regeneration cannot preserve a soldier whose originating death is removed from history (Chapters 56, 67, 75–76).
