Bellion

Bellion is the Grand Marshal of the original Shadow Army, its oldest volunteer, and the strongest soldier inherited by Jinwoo Sung. He combines overwhelming close-range power with the experience to organize an army numbering in the tens of thousands, making him both a champion and the principal military professional beneath the Shadow Monarch.

Biography

The Monarch War Begins

Bellion arrives on Earth at the head of the former Shadow Monarch's army and immediately kneels before Jinwoo. The enormous gate over Seoul appears threatening to humanity, but the soldiers who descend from it recognize the new bearer of their sovereign's power. Bellion's formal submission confirms that Jinwoo has inherited not only Ashborn's abilities but the allegiance of the army preserved for him (Chapter 67).

Bellion says he was born from a fruit of the World Tree and originally fought among the soldiers of the sky. When Ashborn gained dominion over death and separated from the Rulers, Bellion became the first warrior to volunteer for his new army. Service extending across nearly an eternity explains both his rank and the complete certainty with which he transfers loyalty to Ashborn's chosen successor (Chapter 67).

His arrival creates a conflict with Beru, who has been acting as the senior marshal among Jinwoo's existing shadows. Bellion accepts the challenge without anger. He reads Beru's speed, withstands the initial assault, and uses his jointed sword to strike from changing angles until Beru can no longer keep pace. Bellion halts the finishing blow the instant Jinwoo orders it, proving that victory never outranks obedience (Chapter 67).

Bellion then helps Jinwoo assess the armies of Chaos, explains their hierarchy, and divides the Shadow Army into formations with Beru and Igris. He distributes elite soldiers and commanders so no division is needlessly weak, revealing a perfectionist's concern with the army as a system rather than a collection of strong individuals (Chapters 67–69).

War with the Dragon King and the Rewritten World

Bellion initially warns that Jinwoo's plan to confront the Dragon King is too dangerous. He does not confuse loyalty with silent agreement and gives an honest military assessment. When Jinwoo invokes Ashborn's willingness to face impossible odds, Bellion recognizes the same resolve in his new sovereign and pledges to remain until the end (Chapters 70–71).

During the war, Bellion leads a force hidden inside Thomas Andre's shadow, springing Jinwoo's trap on the Iron Body Monarch and his army. He and Igris command the western front while Jinwoo draws the Dragon King away, combining experienced command with the regenerative advantage of shadow troops. The deployment lets Jinwoo fight on one front while trusting the larger campaign to his officers (Chapters 72–74).

After the Cup of Reincarnation is used, Bellion accompanies Jinwoo into the gap between dimensions. He remains through the decades-long extermination of the Monarchs' armies and eventually reports the complete destruction of the remaining enemy forces, fulfilling the purpose for which the army was preserved (Chapter 75).

In the rewritten world, Bellion remains part of Jinwoo's hidden household army rather than disappearing with history. Jinwoo's son knows him well enough to draw the segmented sword and spar with him using a toy weapon. The former commander of an apocalyptic army has become a patient guardian inside the peaceful life his wars made possible (Chapter 77).

Appearance and personality

Bellion is an enormous armored knight, standing more than a head taller than Thomas Andre. Damage to his helmet releases black smoke rather than revealing flesh. His soft, measured voice contrasts with his size and the violence of his sword (Chapter 67).

He is formal, calm, disciplined, and intensely loyal. Bellion accepts a challenge without boasting, gives unwelcome tactical advice when necessary, and stops a killing stroke instantly on command. Centuries of service leave him unused to examining his feelings, but Jinwoo encourages him to remember Ashborn as a person and companion rather than only a sovereign. That conversation begins to separate living loyalty from mechanical obedience (Chapters 67, 71).

Abilities, skills, and rank

Physical and magical power

As grand marshal, Bellion is the Shadow Army's foremost soldier. His strength shatters the ground during his duel with Beru, while his reactions let him follow and counter a general-grade opponent built around speed. Concentrated mana turns his strikes into blows capable of breaking enormous enemies rather than merely cutting human-scale targets (Chapters 67, 72–74).

Segmented-sword technique

Bellion's sword is constructed from articulated sections that can separate, extend, bend, and recoil like a bladed whip. He changes its path after an opponent has begun evading, surrounds targets with successive angles, and can return it to a rigid close-combat form. The weapon demands exact control: its unpredictability comes from Bellion's timing rather than random motion (Chapter 67).

Command and logistics

Bellion understands the Monarchs' military hierarchy, evaluates relative strength, designs balanced divisions, and directs large forces without Jinwoo's constant attention. He is comfortable with concealed deployment and multi-front operations, making him more than a champion assigned to the strongest enemy (Chapters 67, 69, 72–74).

Shadow traits and limits

He can reside within a host shadow, communicate through the army, and regenerate through the Shadow Monarch's mana. Full restoration does not make him invulnerable to powers that erase shadows completely, and he initially judges direct battle with the Dragon King too dangerous. His other meaningful limit is authority: however capable, Bellion places Jinwoo's command above his own assessment (Chapters 70–74).

Relationships

• Ashborn: Bellion is the first volunteer in Ashborn's army and serves him for an immense span of time. Jinwoo teaches him to remember that bond personally, not only hierarchically.
• Jinwoo Sung: Bellion's loyalty transfers through shared power and purpose. He offers honest counsel and ultimately recognizes Ashborn's resolve in Jinwoo's different style of command.
• Beru: Beru is a fellow marshal and defeated challenger. Their duel establishes rank, after which they serve within the same command structure.
• Igris: Igris is Bellion's trusted fellow commander on the western front and in the long war beyond the restored timeline.

Items

Bellion wields a distinctive segmented sword made of articulated joints. It can extend, curve, recoil, and carry concentrated mana through changing attack angles. The weapon is personal equipment rather than a separately cataloged item article.
