Occisus

Occisus is the white Banishing Blade borne by the Pharmacist. Called the sword of death, it converts her righteous determination to destroy evil into extreme cutting and soul-killing force. Its acceptance helps carry her into the Paragon realms, and its reunion with Ultus, Captus, and Demortus makes humanity's final Banishing Strategy possible.

History

Recognition and acceptance

The Pharmacist identifies Occisus when she explains the four Banishing Blades to Lan Jue. She has carried it for years, but admits that she cannot yet command it completely or reliably locate its three companions through their connection. The blade nevertheless answers her conviction on Tempest, kills an alien progenitor, and cuts through structures that resist ordinary weapons. During the Northern campaign it finally accepts her as its master at the moment of her Paragon breakthrough, awakening a Slaughter Domain that the sword and bearer then strengthen together. Alien war and temporary capture

Occisus repeatedly wounds alien elites with injuries that do not naturally heal, clears paths through swarms, and supports the Pharmacist's advance beyond ordinary Paragon bottlenecks. When she and Lan Jue infiltrate the alien home world, the Violet Prince overpowers her, seizes Occisus, and carries both weapon and bearer into Monarch. Qianlin, concealed within Lan Jue, restores the captives and helps make their recovery possible; the Pharmacist reclaims Occisus before the group searches for Ultus. The seizure is temporary custody, not a transfer of the blade's allegiance. (Chapters 679–842)

Reunion and the Banishing Strategy

Occisus's longstanding connection with Ultus lets the Pharmacist locate the missing blade. When Monarch's avatar tries to wield Ultus against her, Li Ke's spirit revolts from within it; Ultus breaks the hostile control and adheres to Occisus, allowing the Pharmacist to recover both swords. Occisus later fights beside the other three blades, joins their bearers' synchronized attacks, and becomes inseparable from the Pharmacist when the four dedicate their bodies and energy to the Banishing Strategy. The strategy nearly consumes its bearers, but humanity's faith sustains them long enough to defeat Monarch. (Chapters 849–900)

Abilities and properties

• Occisus manifests as a white blade and is associated with death, slaughter, and an exceptionally savage murderous aura. It is a godly weapon capable of cutting alien bodies, souls, hardened structures, and obstacles that conventional weapons cannot breach. It is not described as the single sharpest Banishing Blade; that distinction belongs to Ultus. (Chapters 494, 543–544, and 838)
• Its attacks can scale from a hand-held sword to immense beams hundreds of meters long, split targets in one pass, create a cutting path and protective shell, or divide into many sword images. The Pharmacist can also become one with the weapon for concentrated movement and attack. (Chapters 739–760 and 838–839)
• After the Pharmacist reaches Reflection of Heaven and Earth, Beheading the Three lets Occisus attack an enemy's spirit rather than only its body. Collisions among Banishing Blades can likewise produce an immortal-level spiritual shock. (Chapters 838 and 854)
• Occisus and the Pharmacist's Slaughter Domain feed one another. Deathly energy strengthens the Domain, while her righteous will and cultivation let more of the blade awaken; this bond accelerates her progress but does not provide limitless energy. (Chapters 695–696, 752, and 814–820)
• The blade demands enormous power. Its bearer initially lacks full control, a stronger Infinite opponent can suppress and physically seize it, and the complete Banishing Strategy drains even advanced Paragons toward death until outside faith supplies the deficit. (Chapters 515, 839–840, and 889–900)
