Tang Mi

Tang Mi, also called Xiao Mi or Little Mi, is Zhou Qianlin's closest university friend, Tang Xiao's younger sister, and a metal Adept who progresses from gifted student pilot to a member of Star Division. The three names refer to one person: Tang Mi gives her full name when introduced, while friends and family use the diminutives she sometimes protests. Her Metal Domination emphasizes external control and offense, distinguishing it from her brother's ability to transform his own body. (Chapters 21–23, 41, 181–182, 240, and 541–563)

Biography

Qianlin's pilot and protective friend

Tang Mi first appears collecting Qianlin in a golden mecha after danger near Skyfire Avenue. She identifies herself as Tang Mi and objects when Qianlin calls her Little Mi, establishing the full name and nickname in the same scene. She brings Qianlin home and remains close enough to notice threats, romantic complications, and absences throughout their university life. Her protectiveness is mixed with teasing rather than solemn guardianship. (Chapters 21–23)

At National Eastern University, she is a sophomore National Scholar, campus beauty, and Special Grade Second Rank pilot approaching Special First Rank. In DreamNet she helps the apparently inexperienced Lan Jue and later takes offense when he defeats or embarrasses her, drawing her older brother into the resulting challenge. The encounter indirectly creates Tang Xiao's apprenticeship under Lan Jue, though Tang Mi herself does not become Lan Jue's disciple. (Chapters 41, 48, and 51–55)

Exchange competition and exposed limits

Tang Mi represents the university in the mecha exchange against Lir. Her golden close-combat machine uses rapid disordered leaps, thrown metal attacks, daggers, and high-frequency blades. She is fast and aggressive, but her hand speed does not produce the afterimages associated with the highest control, and a tactical opening leaves the machine's head exposed. Hua Qianhu exploits the mistake and defeats her. The loss establishes a clear ceiling on her student credentials: she is talented, not unbeatable. (Chapters 181–182)

The later A.R.C. program strengthens both her body and Discipline. Tang Mi's Talent is Metal Domination, different from Tang Xiao's Metalmorphosis. She is a sixth-rank Adept whose Core is in her chest; she can command metal offensively but cannot simply turn her own body into metal. She endures the same punitive training as the class and becomes part of its capable fighting pairs. When Qianlin amplifies her during a squad exercise, Tang Mi uses twin titanium swords to release fast silver attacks and briefly approaches much more advanced movement. That performance depends on Qianlin's support and should not be treated as Tang Mi's unaided baseline. (Chapters 240–248 and 308)

Squad Eleven and the alien war

When Star Division forms, Tang Xiao requests that Tang Mi join Squad Eleven. Half the unit has metal-related Disciplines and the remainder support energy enhancement or conduction, allowing Tang Xiao's Transformer approach to turn the squad into a protected composite weapon. Tang Mi contributes external metal offense while her brother supplies reshaping and defense. During the Red Widow operation, she fights within that formation and helps redirect the unit toward available targets when an unexpected mechanism frustrates their first attack. (Chapters 541–563)

Tang Mi's later scenes show her as a continuing soldier rather than a commander detached from her cohort. She considers whether the transformed Jin Tao might be a viable boyfriend, but her proposed demand that he first become a Paragon is comic and no relationship is formally resolved. In battle she can silence Jin Tao and Tang Xiao's bickering because both accept her judgment about their cooperative rivalry. She remains aboard operational mecha and ships through the counteroffensive, joining the group that receives confirmation of Lan Jue's breakthrough. (Chapters 606, 664, 741, and 792)

Her last direct appearance is in Chapter 799. From her mecha cockpit she recognizes Qianlin's enormous Paragon image and confirms the identity to Tang Xiao, astonished by the friend's growth during their long separation. Later chapters do not individually state Tang Mi's fate. Group references to Star Division or Lan Jue's former students are not enough to assign her a death, promotion, or epilogue residence. Appearance and personality

Tang Mi is tall, roughly half a head taller than Qianlin, with exceptionally long legs, long golden hair, and jade-green eyes. At introduction she wears a close-fitting black flight suit. Her height and legs remain recurring visual markers even after she exchanges student life for A.R.C. training and military operations. (Chapters 21, 41, 512, and 606)

She is confident, sociable, competitive, protective, and willing to speak bluntly to friends and family. She resists diminutives when they feel childish yet tolerates Little Mi from people close to her. Defeat exposes impatience, while A.R.C. and Star Division give that assertiveness a team function: she can hold her position under punishment, guide weaker squadmates, and stop her brother and Jin Tao from undermining coordination with endless insults. Disciplines and abilities

Metal Domination

Tang Mi's sixth-rank Discipline lets her control metal externally, emphasizing direct offense. It is related to but distinct from Tang Xiao's Metalmorphosis: she cannot transform her flesh into metal, while he can merge body and machine into new shapes. She channels the Discipline through metal weapons, including twin titanium swords, and fits naturally into a unit designed around metal conduction and reinforcement. Her effectiveness depends on available metal, her own will, and the resistance of what she tries to control. (Chapters 240, 308, and 541–542)

Mecha combat

As a student she is rated Special Grade Second Rank and close to Special First Rank. She favors mobile close combat, disordered leaps, thrown metal, daggers, and high-frequency blades. Her exchange loss shows that speed without protected lines of attack leaves critical openings. A.R.C. improves her Discipline integration and team fighting, while Star Division embeds those skills in Tang Xiao's defensive formation rather than presenting her as an independent God-ranked pilot. Relationships

• Zhou Qianlin: Tang Mi's best friend. She transports and protects Qianlin, shares university life with her, and immediately recognizes her transformed Paragon image after a long separation.
• Tang Xiao: Her older brother, occasional defender, and eventual squad commander. Their related metal Disciplines complement each other, although Tang Mi rejects the idea that he can decide her romantic life.
