Ling Ya

Ling Ya is a Northern colonel and operations staff officer aboard Tyrannosaurus. A congenital ice adept and rising military talent, she initially tests Lan Jue's scouting team through deliberate provocation before joining its reconnaissance of the alien planets.

Biography

Test at Tyrannosaurus

Ling Ya receives the Eastern scouts with demands for intrusive verification and blocks their departure with mechas when Lan Jue refuses. The confrontation is partly a test authorized by her superiors and partly driven by her desire to challenge the Great Adept Tournament champion. Su Xiaosu accepts in Lan Jue's place and gradually gains the upper hand through greater combat experience. Wu Qiu stops the fight and orders Ling to apologize, after which she drops the antagonism and joins the scout team as a Northern observer. (Chapters 669–671)

Aboard Zeus-1, Ling's contempt for Eastern technology gives way to respect as she witnesses the ship, its crew, the alien planet, and the hidden Paragons' power. She helps transmit intelligence, escapes the alien trap, and returns to Tyrannosaurus during its crisis. After the battle, Wu Qiu orders her to send a lure intended to bring the Avenue Paragons back under Northern control. Ling is visibly conflicted but complies under his threatening gaze; this is her last personal action, and the corpus does not state what consequences follow for her. (Chapters 672–683, 697)

Appearance and personality

Ling Ya is a tall, thin woman in her twenties with fair skin, ruddy cheeks, black hair, and a meticulously pressed uniform. Her healthy beauty and sweet smile can conceal pride and a competitive temper. She is brave enough to challenge stronger visitors and adapts quickly when evidence overturns her prejudice, but her final compliance with Wu Qiu shows that military pressure can override her unresolved personal misgivings. Congenital ice Talent

Ling's Discipline awakened at birth without technological alteration, making her a rare congenital Talent in the Northern army. At ninth level seventh rank she transforms her skin to clear ice, her hair to white, and concentrates cold into a spear. She can channel freezing power through an opponent's weapon and defend with rapid spear work. (Chapter 670)

Her strongest shown technique, Dazzling Ice Lotus, anchors the spear, creates a powerful vacuum, forms cutting ice petals, and drops the surrounding temperature by roughly one hundred degrees. Su Xiaosu's Holy Fire and greater experience counter her gradual advantage, and Wu Qiu's intervention dispels both attacks before the result is decided. (Chapter 670)
