Le Ziqian
Le Ziqian, also rendered Le Zi Qian, is a prominent young researcher and administrator at National Eastern University. At age thirty-five he directs its Research and Development Department, serves as deputy director of Mecha Construction and Maintenance studies, and selects NEU’s student team for the academic portion of the Lir University exchange.
Biography
NEU’s young research authority
Le is introduced as the university’s youngest accomplished researcher, already entrusted with major departmental offices after representing the Eastern Alliance at an international scientific exchange. When Lir abruptly changes the competition schedule, he calmly chooses three National Scholars for NEU’s research team and helps prepare them. During the combat phase he recognizes Su He, warns that the visiting researcher threatens both Tan Lingyun and Dean Xu Renjian’s academic authority, and relays that warning directly before the fight. (Chapters 170–190)
Appearance and personality
Le is a thirty-five-year-old intellectual who wears gold-rimmed glasses and speaks in a deep voice. He can appear brooding, cold, or dignified when evaluating an academic rival, but laughs easily in less formal conversation. The corpus supplies no additional fixed description. (Chapters 170–190)
He is composed, observant, and confident in his students without becoming complacent about serious competition. Around Tan Lingyun he is unusually familiar and unafraid of her temper, teasing her while also worrying about the risk she accepts. His assessment of Su He combines professional knowledge with personal dislike, so it is informed but not neutral. (Chapters 171–190)
Disciplines and abilities
Research leadership
Le’s demonstrated expertise is mecha construction, maintenance, research planning, and student selection. His prior alliance-level representation and administrative appointments establish scientific authority, while his recognition of Su He and the competing schools of research shows knowledge of the field’s politics. (Chapters 170–190)
No demonstrated combat ability
The supplied corpus does not identify Le as an Adept, name a Discipline, or show him piloting or fighting. He comments on pilot matchups and risk as an educator and researcher. Any personal cultivation or combat rank would be speculation. (Chapters 170–190)
Relationships
- Tan Lingyun: A close colleague Le accompanies and advises. He teases her more freely than most teachers and worries when she accepts Su He’s challenge alone.
- Su He: A respected but disliked research rival whose presence Le identifies as a threat to NEU’s academic standing.
- Xu Renjian: NEU’s dean and head of the research group opposed to Su He’s. Le interprets the exchange as an attempt to challenge Xu’s authority.
- Zhou Qianlin: One of the National Scholars Le selects and prepares for the academic competition.
