Gao Yong

Gao Yong is a senior Moonfiend pirate officer and the Moonfiend Empress’s second-in-command. His early arrogance brings him into conflict with Lan Jue, but his continued loyalty later makes him the emissary who seeks help when the Empress is taken by the Pontiff’s Citadel.

Biography

Humiliated on Skyfire Avenue

Gao Yong leads six subordinates into Skyfire Avenue over a valuable stone and refuses the Empress’s order to accept punishment. He challenges Lan Jue with gravity manipulation amplified by his men, only for Lan Jue’s lightning and speed to break the formation and defeat him. The Empress later punishes Gao Yong for underestimating Zeus, although he remains a trusted senior officer and briefs Lan Jue about the proposed Clash of the Seven Stars. (Chapters 59–81)

Emissary for the Empress

When the Pontiff’s Citadel captures the Empress, Gao Yong carries her letter to Lan Jue and argues that her absence will return the Shattered Starfields to violent disorder. Mika drives him from the shop, but his appeal helps bring the crisis to Lan Jue’s attention. Chapter 495 only recalls that Gao Yong came for help and does not place him in that later scene, so his last direct appearance remains the Chapter 329 meeting. (Chapters 329 and 495)

Appearance and personality

Gao Yong first appears in a golden hood with six silver-clad followers and is later described as towering. His expression readily exposes anger, jealousy, uncertainty, or nervousness, and his skin darkens when the followers overlay their power with his. The corpus gives no fuller unmasked portrait. (Chapters 59–72)

He begins proud, jealous, and dangerously dismissive of Skyfire Avenue, refusing even his commander’s direct order because he believes his actions serve the pirates. Defeat does not remove his stubbornness, but later scenes show loyalty and persistence directed toward the Empress’s survival rather than his own status. (Chapters 59–72 and 329)

Gravity manipulation

Gao Yong is a Ninth Level third-rank Adept who can intensify gravity around a target, hamper movement, and add crushing weight to close attacks. The Discipline is suited to battlefield control, but a sufficiently fast and powerful opponent can break its hold before Gao Yong capitalizes on it. (Chapter 60)

Gravity overlay

Six long-serving, similarly aligned subordinates can merge their energy with Gao Yong’s and raise his effective power to roughly Ninth Level fifth rank or higher. This formation is also its main weakness: disabling the six immediately reduces his gravity field, leaving him exposed. (Chapter 60)

Relationships

• Su Xiaosu: Gao Yong’s Empress and commander. He fears her discipline, resists one humiliating order, and later risks approaching Lan Jue to secure her rescue.
• Lan Jue: The opponent who dismantles Gao Yong’s gravity formation. Gao Yong later briefs him on pirate affairs and asks him to save the Empress.
• Mika: An Avenue fighter who resents Gao Yong’s part in drawing Lan Jue into the Citadel’s earlier ambush and forcibly ends his later appeal.
