Isrock, the New World, and the Lunar Scourge

Wang Ji asks Ling Chen to kill mountain wild boars, and rewards him when the work is completed. Their routine transaction becomes personal when Ling returns an amethyst ring that Wang lost while fleeing the animals. Because the ring was a birthday gift from Wang’s wife, he responds to Ling’s honesty by granting access to unusually powerful hidden merchandise, including limited special potions and a revival pendant. (Chapters 9, 11–13)

Appearance and personality

The corpus identifies Wang Ji principally through his work as the village shopkeeper and gives little physical description. He openly hates the wild boars that drove him away and is deeply relieved to recover his wife’s gift. He values Ling Chen’s honesty enough to reveal stock unavailable to ordinary customers. Abilities and powers

Wang Ji has no demonstrated combat class or supernatural technique. His practical importance lies in commerce and potion-making or procurement: his hidden stock temporarily improves physical attack, magic attack, accuracy, speed, or health. The supply is limited, and the effects of each special potion do not stack. (Chapter 13)
