Chi Xuan Wu Hen
Chi Xuan Wu Hen is a legendary human martial artist whose corpse the Underworld King revives as the level-ninety-six Undead War God. He retains memories and martial will from life, isolates himself in Fire Purgatory, and becomes the last great opponent Ling Chen must overcome there. He is distinct from both Ling and the Chi Xuan Sword Emperor who became the ancient Shura ten thousand years earlier. (Chapters 649–657)
Biography
The Underworld and the Forgotten City
In life, Chi Xuan Wu Hen was a descendant of the Chi Xuan family who pursued martial arts until he became the Forgotten Continent’s undefeated War God and the human closest to Saint Destroyer grade. After his death, the Underworld King obtained his corpse roughly a thousand years before the main story and used the Underworld Fire to restore the full power of his living prime. The resulting Undead is second only to the Underworld King but refuses ordinary Undead society, choosing instead to remain alone in Fire Purgatory. When Ling reaches him, Chi Xuan Wu Hen can still recall his former life and confronts the intruder as a master swordsman. After a prolonged battle, Ling kills the revived body and inherits the special skill War God’s Will as well as access to Dark Samsara. (Chapters 649–657)
The Moon God Palace and the Shura’s Return
Chi Xuan Wu Hen does not return during Ling’s Shura transformation. He is mentioned only as a benchmark for the normal upper limit of human longevity: even exceptional humans such as the War God could live for only two to three thousand years, far short of the Moon Goddesses’ ten-thousand-year existence. This comparison concerns his life span and does not identify him as the separate ancient Shura. (Chapter 773)
Appearance and personality
As an Undead, Chi Xuan Wu Hen is presented primarily through his armored martial presence, sword, and overwhelming pressure rather than a detailed account of facial features. The corpus does not firmly state his living appearance, exact age at death, or how much the Underworld Fire changed his body. (Chapters 649–650)
He is defined by martial obsession, pride, endurance, and solitude. Even after becoming an Undead, he retains memories and the identity of the War God instead of acting as a mindless corpse. His choice to stand in Fire Purgatory for a thousand years rather than mingle with other Undead shows isolation, but the text does not fully explain whether this is discipline, disdain, grief, or another motive. (Chapters 649–650)
Abilities and powers
Chi Xuan Wu Hen is a level-ninety-six high-tier Mysterious God-grade Undead with 3.2 billion health. His War God profession combines tremendous physical attributes, sword mastery, and resistance expected of the human closest to Saint Destroyer grade. Boundless Sword Light fuses sword intent with War God power to release countless blades across three hundred metres, dealing damage equal to five times a normal attack. (Chapter 649)
He fights with Dark Samsara, a Mysterious God-grade two-handed sword originally belonging to the Underworld King. His martial legacy also produces War God’s Will, a special skill later granted to Ling that gives a high chance of resisting knockback, knockdown, and launch effects. The transferred skill and weapon outlast him, but neither implies that his consciousness survives his defeat. (Chapters 649 and 656–657)
Relationships
- Ling Chen: Ling challenges Chi Xuan Wu Hen in Fire Purgatory and kills the revived War God after enduring his sword techniques. He then receives War God’s Will and Dark Samsara, making the dead warrior’s strength part of Ling’s later arsenal. (Chapters 649–657)
- Underworld King: The Underworld King recovers Chi Xuan Wu Hen’s corpse, revives its full living power with Underworld Fire, and permits him to use Dark Samsara. Chi Xuan Wu Hen nevertheless chooses isolation rather than service among other Undead. (Chapters 649 and 657)
- The ancient Shura: Chi Xuan Wu Hen is not the Chi Xuan Sword Emperor who became a Shura ten thousand years earlier. Their translated names and shared martial stature can invite confusion, but the War God belongs to a much later period and is never called a Shura in his direct profile. (Chapters 57, 649, 669, and 773)
Items
- Dark Samsara: This two-handed Mysterious God sword was forged by the Dwarf Clan ten thousand years earlier, became the Underworld King’s personal weapon, and was later given to Chi Xuan Wu Hen under a usage restriction. Ling obtains it after defeating him. (Chapter 657)
- No other confirmed personal equipment: The corpus does not identify separate armor, accessories, or possessions belonging to Chi Xuan Wu Hen.
