Dream Blade

The Dream Blade is the first weapon Memory received by Nephis, a simple silver longsword earned in her First Nightmare. Though modest in rank, it accompanied her across the Forgotten Shore, Nightmare Desert, Underworld, and Second Nightmare before Sunny reforged its physical and spiritual pattern into the Supreme soulbound weapon known as the Blessing. History

A lonely soul dreaming of fire

Nephis received the Dream Blade during her First Nightmare, whose central enemy was an Awakened Terror that trapped her within a dream. The Memory was a Dormant weapon of the first tier despite the extraordinary trial and was one of two rewards tied to her victory. Its description—“Lost in the darkness, a lonely soul once dreamt of fire”—and the unexplained way it accompanied the more obviously ranked armor made Sunny later suspect that the sword held a deeper fitness for Nephis than its appraisal suggested. The silver longsword became Nephis's principal weapon through years of isolation and war. She wielded it on the Forgotten Shore, through her solitary crossing of the Nightmare Desert and outskirts of the Underworld, and inside her Second Nightmare. It repeatedly protected Sunny as well as Nephis, although it also cut him during their duel at the Crimson Spire. By the time she became a Saint, it was far too weak for current battles, yet she kept it because no replacement had matched the history and trust accumulated through those ordeals. Chosen as the foundation

When Sunny offered to forge Nephis a weapon able to grow with her soul, he chose to rework the Dream Blade instead of beginning from new metal. Its practical Rank and Tier did not matter as much as the bond already formed between sword and wielder. Nephis agreed that no other blade had served her so well, making the retired Memory a stable spiritual pattern around which a bound weapon could be designed. (Chapters 1879 and 2044)

Sunny began the forging after Nephis summoned the original blade in his workshop. Because he could not receive it as a normal transfer after losing the Spell, he studied and held its weave together directly. He destroyed and remade its physical anchor in blessed alloy while another incarnation entered Nephis's dream with Nightmare, using a dream of her Soul Sea to reforge the connection from the other side. The process combined metallurgy, shadow-string weaving, will, Nephis's flame, and the old sword's identity rather than merely increasing a numeric rank. (Chapters 2053–2058)

The Blessing

The finished weapon preserved the Dream Blade's simple longsword form and familiar balance while becoming the Blessing, a soulbound blade equal in Rank and Class to Nephis's soul. Its core Dream Blade enchantment governs the weapon's dormant and manifested states, while the rebuilt design grants far stronger resistance, essence support, and interaction with Nephis's longing and fire. The original Memory therefore survives by transformation and continuity, not as a separate sword stored beside its successor. (Chapters 2060–2061)

The Blessing is a new, more complex weapon and is not separately cataloged in the frozen item manifest. Later uses of its Supreme properties belong to that successor rather than to the original Dormant blade. This article records the transformation because it is the Dream Blade's latest state, while distinguishing its early demonstrated limits from powers Sunny added during reforging. Abilities and properties

Original weapon

The Dream Blade manifests as a straight silver longsword suited to Nephis's preferred style. It was only Dormant and first-tier, with a simple but unusually elegant weave. The corpus does not provide an original named enchantment list through the Spell's interface; Sunny later states that the reforged version's passive resistance to soul attacks is drastically more powerful than the original, establishing that the early sword offered some soul protection without quantifying it. Its greatest practical strength was reliability and fit. Nephis carried it through environments and battles far beyond what a first-tier Dormant weapon would normally be expected to survive, and continued to judge its handling superior even after it became too weak to damage her current enemies. Longevity does not prove hidden Supreme lethality: the blade was retired precisely because its rank could no longer keep pace with its wielder. (Chapters 1879 and 2044)

Reforged Dream Blade enchantment

Within the Blessing, Dream Blade becomes the foundational enchantment governing form. In the dormant state, the successor rests in Nephis's soul and increases resistance to soul attacks, soul-essence replenishment, and spirit-essence absorption; Sunny believes the latter lets her draw power from the dreams of people caught in her nascent Domain. These are properties of the reforged sword and include a reasoned interpretation by its creator, not a complete account of what the original Dormant Memory could do. (Chapter 2061)

Bound transformation

The Blessing's Bound trait ties its Rank and Class to Nephis's soul, making it equivalent to a seventh-tier Transcendent Memory at completion and capable of progressing with her. The transformation required rebuilding both physical form and soul connection and consumed the Dream Blade as the foundation. It cannot be reduced to an ordinary Memory upgrade, copied from the old sword alone, or safely assigned to another wielder. (Chapters 2054–2061)
