Alice

Alice is a Clan Valor enchanter who demonstrates the great clan's collaborative Memory-making process to Sunny and Nephis. Her Aspect lets her infuse objects with qualities and transfer the property of being a Memory, making her both an Infuser and a Forger within Valor's practical classification of Spellsmiths. (Chapters 2046–2052)

Biography

Demonstration at the Valor Keep

Alice meets Sunny and Nephis in a crafting hall with Master Snow. Although she has belonged to Valor for only a few years, she speaks enthusiastically about its enchanters and explains that their varied Aspects are grouped by function: Smiths create base objects, Infusers grant qualities, Scribes impose enchantments, and Forgers turn completed works into Memories. The categories overlap, and no single production method applies to every Aspect. (Chapters 2046–2048)

She demonstrates by carving Corrupted bone into arrowheads with an enchanted knife, then pouring essence into a piece until its existing nature acquires a chosen quality. Her Dormant Ability performs infusion and is efficient enough to repeat many times with a steady essence stream. Alice next copies the defining Memory quality between arrowheads, establishing that her higher Ability also qualifies her as a Forger even though she does not create the underlying object or spellweave herself. (Chapters 2047–2050)

Alice and Snow then work on an armor project. After Snow finishes the mundane cuirass, Alice infuses it before he guides its developing weave toward a Memory. She warns that elaborate forging can continue for days and still fail, distinguishing industrial collaboration from Sunny's direct weaving. At the end she invites Sunny to return and hopes to forge something Nephis can use, unaware how little ordinary equipment the powerful Saint needs. (Chapters 2050–2052)

Appearance and personality

Alice is a beautiful, petite woman with her hair gathered neatly in a bun. She wears an emerald robe and handles tools with nimble precision. Her elegant greeting gives way to animated smiles and open enthusiasm once the conversation turns to her craft, contrasting with Snow's absentminded manner. (Chapters 2046–2052)

She is courteous, curious, earnest, and proud of a profession that martial Legacies often overshadow. Alice readily teaches an outsider how Valor's workshops function and acknowledges both variation and failure instead of portraying the system as perfect. Her wish to equip Nephis appears sincere rather than political, but the corpus does not follow her after the demonstration or show how she responds to the Domain War's outcome. (Chapters 2046–2052)

Abilities and Aspect

Infusion

Alice's Dormant Aspect Ability lets her pour essence into a material object and add or strengthen a quality. She can perform the process continuously and repeatedly, preparing components for other Spellsmiths. The exact range of qualities she can grant, their durability, material requirements, essence cost, and possible failure conditions are not fully explained. Her bone-working knife is a tool; the easy cutting is not attributed to her body. (Chapters 2047 and 2050)

Forging the Memory quality

As a Forger, Alice can take the property that makes one object a Memory and transfer or duplicate it into another prepared object. The demonstration acts directly rather than assembling a spellweave and can supply the final stage of a production chain. Some Valor Forgers cannot copy this quality and depend on colleagues who can; others duplicate entire Memories. The corpus does not give the formal name or rank of Alice's Aspect or Ability. (Chapters 2048 and 2052)

Collaborative limits

Alice's method is specialized rather than self-sufficient. A mundane item normally passes through a Smith, Infuser, Scribe, and Forger, with different people covering different functions. Her transfer produces the Memory status but not automatically the sophisticated enchantments or flawless form of the finished work. This division enables scale while leaving every result dependent on compatible materials, other artisans, and a process that can fail. (Chapters 2047–2052)

Relationships

Sunny and Nephis

Alice treats both visitors with respect and gives Sunny a candid technical lesson that helps him compare Valor's Aspect-driven production with his own weaving. She admires Nephis and hopes to arm her in battle. Neither relationship develops beyond this workshop visit, and the corpus does not establish that Alice ever forges an item either one actually uses. (Chapters 2046–2052)

Master Snow and Clan Valor

Snow is Alice's workshop partner for the demonstration: he creates and evolves the base item while she carves components, infuses the armor, and explains the shared taxonomy. Alice joined Valor only a few years earlier, showing that not every Spellsmith was born to the clan. The text does not identify her previous affiliation, teacher, contractual status, or fate after Valor's defeat. (Chapters 2046–2052)

Items

Alice wears an emerald robe and uses a small enchanted knife capable of cutting Corrupted bone with ease. The workshop contains bone arrowheads and an armored cuirass used to demonstrate infusion and Forging. None receives a formal name, complete enchantment description, or later custodian, and no cataloged Memory is assigned to Alice personally. (Chapters 2046–2052)
