Witch of Starsmental mageformer organizing ego and incarnation of Mother Earth

Vieira Dune is the Witch of Stars, the former leader of Walpurgisnacht, an early founder of Arthia, and Jeong-woo's former lover. Her pursuit of power leads her from mental magic and experiments with artificial Philosopher's Stones to the stolen Stone of Luxuria, through which she becomes the organizing ego of Mother Earth. Vieira is not the primordial Mother Earth herself: the conceptual being predates her, uses her mind as a coherent identity, and eventually cuts her away as a disposable human component.

Biography

A Founder Who Turned Love into Rivalry

Vieira approaches Jeong-woo and Valdebich during the Tutorial as the already notable Witch of Stars. The three clear it together, gather further companions, and form the team that becomes Arthia, while Vieira and Jeong-woo become lovers. Her magical scholarship materially supports his rise: she insists on recovering De Roy's records, helps him understand Demonic Studies, and enables him to contact demons without simply surrendering his soul in a contract. Those contributions make her a collaborator in his development rather than a passive companion. (Chapters 179 and 196–197)

That partnership curdles when Agares takes unusual interest in Jeong-woo. Vieira's envy grows as powers and patrons repeatedly choose him, and she ultimately helps destroy the clan she founded: she poisons Jeong-woo, manipulates his emotions, and drives a blade into the lover who still trusts her. Her later explanation is that Jeong-woo never treated her as an equal and claimed collective achievements as his own. The grievance explains the resentment she voices, but her deliberate poisoning and use of mental manipulation make the betrayal an active choice rather than an accidental break. (Chapters 203–204, 233, 375, and 586)

Walpurgisnacht, the Great Mother, and Human Vessels

As leader of Walpurgisnacht, Vieira turns research into an institutional path toward ascension. The first witches teach her Seduction and Occult Power, while she uses mind control, chimeras, doppelganger experiments, Body Transfer, and artificial Philosopher's Stones to consolidate authority. Rivals die through poison, assassination, or brainwashing, and witches who serve her treat the Great Mother as the source of their eventual rescue. The same structure makes Vieira's clan powerful, but also dependent on magical systems whose operation can be disrupted by someone with deeper knowledge of the Emerald Tablet. (Chapters 139, 226, 228, and 231–233)

Her search for a vessel makes the cost of that ambition explicit. Walpurgisnacht labels Sesha “BX-71,” calls Vieira's own daughter a test subject, and experiments on captives so the Great Mother can manifest. When Sesha is no longer available, Vieira imprisons and tortures Ananta, treating her as both substitute vessel and commodity for the Elohim. Yeon-woo rescues Ananta and destroys the laboratories, while the surrounding clans tear through Brocken Castle. Vieira repeatedly escapes execution through Body Transfer, but every death damages her Ego Data until the castle's destruction leaves her soul exposed and her artificial Philosopher's Stone taken. Becoming Mother Earth's Organizing Ego

The destruction of Vieira's lower-world body does not end the project behind her. Mother Earth, identified as the owner of Body Transfer, retrieves that power, and later evidence reveals that Vieira and Bayluk had already been cooperating since Arthia. Vieira steals the Stone of Luxuria, Bayluk studies it, and their work raises her into Mother Earth's operative identity. Through the Soulstone and her own system derived from the Emerald Tablet, Vieira supplies coherent thought and a human-shaped manifestation to a conceptual being that originally possessed immense desire but little organized consciousness. (Chapters 236, 375, 439, and 448–449)

This transformation creates a composite relationship, not a simple renaming. Mother Earth is the primordial conceptual existence and the source of the power; Vieira is the ambitious mortal whose ego directs it, gives it intelligible speech, and pursues control of the heavenly world. Their interests overlap around the Black King's darkness, but their identities remain divisible. Persephone recognizes that the voice calling itself Mother Earth increasingly sounds like Vieira pretending to be the older being, and Mother Earth's later internal argument explicitly accuses Vieira of having consumed it rather than having always been the same entity. (Chapters 385–386, 448–449, 581, and 585)

The Human Ego Discarded from a Conceptual God

As the composite Mother Earth expands into the World Tree, Vieira experiences a scale of awareness and authority far beyond her former mortal life. She helps organize plans against Yeon-woo, directs manifestations, and functions as the central processor that turns Mother Earth's instincts into strategy. That importance remains conditional. When Yeon-woo binds the god through an Apostle channel and threatens to tear it from the World Tree, competing consciousnesses within Mother Earth decide that surrendering Vieira is preferable to losing the whole conceptual body. (Chapters 581 and 585)

Mother Earth tears off the section containing Vieira and throws it through emptiness. The cast-off mass contracts into the wounded witch, proving that Vieira can again exist separately while Mother Earth survives without her. Separation returns Vieira's mortal emotions and limitations: she retains powerful spells and curses but loses the near-omnipotent reach she had as the god's ego, cannot penetrate Yeon-woo's defenses, and becomes overwhelmed by pain and fear. Mother Earth, meanwhile, loses coherent organization and falls back toward disordered instinct until it forms another body through the Soulstone. (Chapters 585–588)

Final Betrayal and Destruction in the Furnace

Confronted at last as herself, Vieira defends the Arthia betrayal by accusing Jeong-woo of treating her as a protected trophy and by claiming that the clan's achievements rested on sacrifices he failed to recognize. Yeon-woo allows that his brother could have been self-righteous, but rejects that as justification for poisoning a lover or experimenting on a daughter. He breaks Vieira's neck and collects her soul, intending that Ananta, Sesha, and Brahm should have a claim in the judgment rather than pretending his own revenge settles every injury. (Chapter 586)

Vieira's last choice repeats the pattern that defined her rise. Under the Purgatory Furnace's pain, she betrays Mother Earth and divulges its hidden vulnerabilities, the Stone of Luxuria's function, and the process by which her ego organized the god's form. Yeon-woo uses that knowledge to target Mother Earth's Soulstone, but does not release Vieira; a shadow engulfs her with the furnace as her soul is torn apart and its remaining vestiges become fuel. Later comparisons mention her assimilation method, but no supplied chapter restores Vieira as an active individual after this destruction. (Chapters 586–587, 614, and 694)

Appearance and personality

Vieira is famous for youthful beauty and for expressions that can appear seductive, innocent, or sincere according to what will best influence an observer. Her original remembered form is elegant, with silky black hair and confident eyes. Body Transfer makes appearance an unstable identifier, however: at Brocken Castle she occupies bodies with green hair, a pointy witch's hat, and pupil-less white eyes. When Mother Earth discards her, the restored human form is corpse-pale, wounded, and disheveled, with the confidence that once animated it replaced by visible fear and madness. (Chapters 139, 231–233, and 585–586)

She is intelligent, scholarly, composed, and capable of turning patient research into new magical systems, but she measures relationships through recognition, equality, and possession. Envy at Jeong-woo's growing advantages becomes resentment; resentment becomes permission to manipulate people who trust her. She can remain cool while rivals disappear and test subjects suffer, yet panic rapidly takes over when her own protections fail. Her final confession shows that she has a coherent grievance, not an absence of feeling, while her repeated decision to betray allies under pressure demonstrates how consistently power and survival outrank loyalty in her choices. (Chapters 203, 231–233, 375, and 585–587)

Abilities and powers

Vieira's personal system is built around witchcraft that alters minds and identity, then amplified first through an artificial Philosopher's Stone and later through the Stone of Luxuria and Mother Earth's conceptual power. These layers must be separated when assessing her capabilities. After Mother Earth cuts her away, Vieira still possesses her cultivated spells, but the cosmic perception, authority, and physical manifestation of the conceptual god remain with Mother Earth rather than following the discarded human ego. (Chapters 231–236 and 585–588)

Mental magic, Seduction, and Occult Power

Vieira is taught Seduction and Occult Power by the first witches and develops mental magic strong enough to dominate doppelgangers, brainwash rivals, manipulate emotional presentation, and conceal her influence from people close to her. Hypnosis and Mind Wash target identity and decision-making rather than causing ordinary physical damage. This makes her especially effective inside organizations, where a victim's choices can be redirected without an obvious battle and where a carefully chosen face or emotional performance lowers resistance before the spell is recognized. (Chapters 139, 226, 317, and 233)

Mental resistance is the principal demonstrated limit. Yeon-woo's Cold-blooded trait automatically defeats Hypnosis and Mind Wash, and failed attempts rebound upon Vieira with penalties that further separate her mind, body, and Ego Data. Her magic also cannot erase all inconsistencies forever: Jeong-woo eventually recognizes the betrayal, and witnesses can reconstruct suspicious deaths even without direct proof. The corpus therefore treats her mind control as a specialized and dangerous discipline, not an unconditional command over any consciousness. (Chapters 139 and 233)

Body Transfer and distributed Ego Data

Body Transfer moves Vieira's Ego Data into another prepared body. At Brocken Castle, decapitation turns one body into smoke while her consciousness awakens elsewhere, effectively giving her repeated lives and making an ordinary killing blow insufficient. The replacements are geographically limited, and the shock of death is not erased. Yeon-woo tracks each transfer, kills successive bodies, and forces accumulated trauma to damage the Ego Data faster than it can settle into a new vessel. (Chapters 233–236)

The power also depends on Mother Earth, its owner. When Yeon-woo extracts the skill from Vieira's lower-world soul, Mother Earth expresses displeasure and retrieves it before he can keep the original power. The later Vieira–Mother Earth composite extends the same principle to a larger scale by placing Vieira's organizing ego inside a conceptual body, but the dependency remains decisive: Mother Earth can sever that human portion and retain the rest of itself. Body Transfer thus offers continuity across vessels without making Vieira independent of the entity granting it. (Chapters 236 and 585–588)

Witchcraft, Medusa, chimeras, and magical systems

Vieira remains a high-ranker-level witch apart from her mental specialties. She constructs layered barriers and spatial formations around Brocken Castle, commands chimeras and altered doppelgangers, uses destructive spells and curses, and manifests Medusa as serpentine hair that can restrain and petrify targets. Her knowledge of Demonic Studies and the Emerald Tablet also lets her research systems rather than merely cast isolated spells, making laboratories, vessels, and subordinate witches important extensions of her personal power. (Chapters 196–197 and 227–233)

These systems are strong but infrastructure-dependent. Brocken Castle's barriers can be mapped through captured souls, the artificial Philosopher's Stones can be disabled by superior understanding of their source code, and the loss of laboratories and replacement bodies collapses her defensive depth. After separation from Mother Earth, Vieira can still launch destructive magic and curses, but a far stronger opponent's wall of dead and shadows negates them without damage. Her latest personal state contains no functioning spellwork because her soul is destroyed inside the furnace. (Chapters 227–236 and 585–587)

Philosopher's Stones and the Stone of Luxuria

Vieira's artificial, ominous Philosopher's Stone is linked to her soul and automatically supplies or triggers magic in danger. She trusts it enough to believe even Allforone or the Summer Queen would struggle to breach its protection, but Yeon-woo's deeper knowledge prevents activation. After her lower-world death, the stone is extracted and given to Boo, demonstrating that this amplifier can be separated from Vieira and transferred rather than remaining an intrinsic part of her soul. (Chapters 229 and 233–236)

The Soulstone of Luxuria operates on a much greater level. Vieira steals it from Jeong-woo and uses her research to make it the organizing core through which Mother Earth gains coherent form and logic. While joined to the god, Vieira can spread consciousness across an immense scale and exercise conceptual authority; once discarded, she loses those capabilities. Mother Earth keeps the Stone of Luxuria, forms a new incarnation through it, and remains the target from which Yeon-woo later extracts it, so its final custody and power do not belong to Vieira. (Chapters 309, 439, 448–449, and 585–591)

Mother Earth assimilation

Vieira's highest achievement is assimilating with Mother Earth and becoming the god's central ego. The relationship grants her a manifestation bearing her face, organized speech, wide perception, divine authority, and access to a primordial source that can influence heavenly war and the World Tree. Her personal ambition supplies direction to Mother Earth's raw desire, which is why other characters describe her as having swallowed or infected the conceptual god. (Chapters 375, 385–386, 439, 448–449, and 581)

Assimilation is neither equal partnership nor permanent ownership. Mother Earth's many consciousnesses can dispute Vieira's control, surrender her to preserve the larger body, and continue acting after she is removed. Vieira's human ego can therefore steer the conceptual god while it remains useful, but it cannot claim the god's entire existence as its own. By the latest state, Vieira is destroyed, the Stone of Luxuria has been removed, and Mother Earth has been sealed separately, conclusively leaving them as two related but distinct entities. (Chapters 585–592)

Relationships

  • Jeong-woo: Vieira's fellow Arthia founder and former lover. She helps develop his magical knowledge, envies the exceptional powers drawn to him, and ultimately poisons and stabs him while later insisting that he never regarded her as an equal.
  • Mother Earth: The primordial conceptual god who grants Vieira power and later uses her as an organizing ego. Vieira directs and humanizes Mother Earth's desire for a time, but Mother Earth can and does discard her while continuing as a separate being.
  • Yeon-woo: The avenger who dismantles Vieira's lower-world defenses, later forces her out of Mother Earth, and destroys her soul after extracting information about the god's vulnerabilities.
  • Ananta: A Dragon Human whom Vieira imprisons, tortures, and treats as a possible vessel after losing access to Sesha. Ananta survives to become one of the people for whom Yeon-woo reserves judgment over Vieira's soul.
  • Sesha: Vieira's biological daughter and designated test subject “BX-71.” Walpurgisnacht's attempt to use the child as a vessel is one of the injuries for which Vieira never makes amends.
  • Brahm: Sesha's guardian and Ananta's father, whose family Vieira damages through imprisonment and experimentation. Yeon-woo includes him among those with a stronger claim than himself to judge her.
  • Boo: The mage who helps map and dismantle Walpurgisnacht's magical infrastructure. He receives the ominous Philosopher's Stone extracted from Vieira's lower-world body.
