Vampiric Lord

The Vampiric Lord, Erzsebet Bathory, is the former Blood King who nearly ruled the Tower, escaped its system to complete transcendence, and later joins Yeon-woo while searching for her separated family.

Biography

A fallen Lord leaves the Tower's system

Bathory once commands enough familiars and life-draining power to nearly rule the Tower, but she cannot pass the seventy-sixth floor or overcome Allforone. Rather than remain within that ceiling, she hides in the Cave of Yaanek, abandons system-bound achievements, and seeks a route to exuviation beyond his interference. Her disappearance also protects a concealed family: she loves her daughter Lana and husband Count Ferenc, but the enemies accumulated during her rule make public attachment dangerous. Family makes an unwilling bargain into an alliance

Yeon-woo enters the Cave of Yaanek because Bathory knows its hidden routes, while she cooperates to learn where Count Ferenc is. Their mutual suspicion continues in the Demonic Sea until Yeon-woo risks death against Nessie and Lana moves to protect him. Bathory then chooses her daughter, recognizes Yeon-woo as the successor to the Vampiric Sword she left behind, and releases her concealed Lord authority to crush Nessie's Illusory Change, after which she accompanies Yeon-woo rather than abandoning the bargain. Darkness completes her return

The Demonism later attacks through Vigrid and consumes most of Bathory's spirit body, but Yeon-woo finds and extracts her before it scatters. She enters deep meditation within his shadow, where baptism by the Black King's darkness and the revelations let her complete the exuviation Allforone once obstructed and achieve transcendence. Restored, she finds Count Ferenc in the world of light and fights beside him, ultimately helping maintain the barrier that protects Jeong-woo during the confrontation with Allforone. Appearance and personality

Bathory has a petite humanoid body, sharp fangs, and an overwhelming presence that can make a much larger monster submit. She frequently conceals herself behind identities taken through Mask of the Dead; after joining Yeon-woo, she can emerge from his shadow as black haze condensing into a human form. She is proud, severe, and amused by danger, with the habits of a ruler accustomed to making others negotiate on her terms. Bathory nevertheless treats a Lord's promise as binding and makes family her clearest vulnerability. Her protection of Lana, search for Count Ferenc, and later defense of Jeong-woo expose loyalty beneath the cruel reputation attached to her years as Blood King. (Chapters 463, 472–475, 649, 679)

Bathory's Vampiric Spirit

Bathory's foundational power drains life from anything that touches it and can convert victims into familiars, allowing death and an army to spread together. Its transcendent expression, Bathory's Vampiric Spirit, fills her territory with world-scale suction, rejects resurrected creatures, and overwhelms Nessie's Illusory Change. The technique's power reflects her Lord holiness and accumulated legends; after her faction's fall, rebuilding that position requires surviving the Demonic Sea and recovering authority rather than simply summoning her former army. Mask of the Dead

Mask of the Dead extracts a dead soul's memories and identity to create a convincing mask. Bathory uses this to change faces and erase her recognizable presence, making even skilled observers unable to locate her when their abilities are suppressed. The disguise depends on identities taken from the dead and does not grant unlimited knowledge beyond those memories; Yeon-woo searches for behavioral and familial clues because ordinary visual recognition is unreliable. Exuviation, darkness, and limits

Bathory escapes the system and completes an initial transcendence away from Allforone, but returning openly to the Tower risks attracting his intervention. The Demonism proves that transcendence does not make her spirit indestructible: it nearly consumes her inside Vigrid, forcing a long recovery. Training within Yeon-woo's shadow then lets the Black King's darkness mature her soul and complete her exuviation. Her latest combat still leaves her badly wounded while shielding Jeong-woo, establishing endurance and loyalty rather than invulnerability. (Chapters 475, 492–499, 648, 679)

Relationships

• Yeon-woo: Bathory first bargains with Yeon-woo over Count Ferenc, then recognizes him as her successor in vampiric power and becomes an independently willing member of his shadow forces. (Chapters 462–475, 492–499, 647–679)
• Jeong-woo: Bathory cherishes Jeong-woo because he was Lana's disciple and later helps protect him during the battle with Allforone. (Chapters 463, 649–679)
