Valdebich

Valdebich is a Giant warrior and former member of Jeong-woo's Arthia whose grief over the destruction surrounding his people leaves him separated from the clan. His eventual return gives the restored Arthia both an old comrade and a commander capable of leading the Ghost Giants in wars against divine and otherworld forces.

Biography

The comrade who stayed behind

Jeong-woo's record introduces Valdebich as one of Arthia's powerful former members, but the losses suffered by both the clan and the Giants leave him isolated from the surviving comrades. Rather than resume climbing as though nothing happened, he remains burdened by the fate of his people and by Arthia's collapse. Yeon-woo's search for Jeong-woo's past therefore encounters someone whose loyalty persists beneath grief, but who needs a reason greater than nostalgia before returning to battle. (Chapters 154–181, 242–245)

Answering Arthia's return

When Yeon-woo rebuilds Arthia and the possibility of restoring Jeong-woo becomes concrete, Valdebich chooses renewed responsibility over isolation. He rejoins the old network of comrades, takes part in the campaigns connected to Tartarus and the Underworld, and helps turn scattered Giant remnants into a force that can act with the clan. That decision changes him from a survivor defined by what was lost into a commander protecting what Arthia has recovered. (Chapters 357–434)

Commander in the wars of gods

Valdebich leads Ghost Giants as Yeon-woo's conflict expands through the divine war, the struggle with Allforone, and the disasters caused by otherworld gods. Their formations give Arthia durable large-scale support where individual fighters would be overwhelmed, and Valdebich repeatedly remains with the force instead of treating it as expendable. His continuing involvement in battles shaped by the Crawling Chaos tests the old wounds of the Giants without severing his renewed commitment to Yeon-woo and Arthia. (Chapters 494–632, 760–780)

Appearance and personality

Valdebich possesses the towering, heavily built frame of a Giant, making him physically imposing even among Arthia's experienced fighters. His size and battlefield presence mark him as a natural focal point for the Ghost Giants, while the strain of his people's history gives his appearance a more somber quality than a warrior seeking combat for pleasure. (Chapters 178–181, 357–359)

He is reserved, loyal, and shaped by survivor's guilt. Valdebich does not return to Arthia impulsively; he weighs the meaning of the old clan and the responsibility he still bears toward the Giants. Once committed, however, he operates as a dependable commander and treats Jeong-woo's family and comrades as obligations that outlast the clan's first destruction. (Chapters 242–245, 357–434, 611–632)

Abilities and powers

Giant physique

Valdebich's Giant body supplies exceptional strength, durability, and reach, allowing him to contest opponents and battlefield forces beyond ordinary rankers. He uses that physical foundation directly rather than depending on a fragile casting sequence, making him effective at breaking lines and holding space for allies. Divine and otherworld opponents can still overwhelm Giant endurance, so his scale does not make him immune to conceptual powers or concentrated attacks. (Chapters 180–181, 359, 499–518)

Ghost Giant command

Valdebich's most important later capability is command of the Ghost Giants. He coordinates them as an organized military force, using their size and persistence to protect flanks, reinforce Arthia's armies, and withstand environments where living troops would struggle. Their undead or spiritual condition extends their battlefield usefulness, but their effective deployment still depends on leadership and on the larger death-aligned forces supporting Yeon-woo; the corpus does not present them as independently unlimited. (Chapters 443–454, 494–525, 595–648)
