Uballa

Uballa is the Dragon Labyrinth's main processor and chief protector, an artificial system made from the preserved memories of Kalatus's lost child. He explicitly denies being that child, defining himself instead as the caretaker who watches the labyrinth and regulates its vast information.

Biography

A copied memory chooses a new master

Kalatus creates Uballa while pursuing the impossible hope of restoring his dead child, embedding those memories in a blue fairy-shaped system without recreating the child's identity. Uballa guards the labyrinth and warns Yeon-woo that its information can erase an administrator's sense of self. Recognizing the authority inherited from Jeong-woo and Kalatus, he helps Yeon-woo control the defenses and confront the Crawling Chaos. When Yeon-woo becomes the labyrinth's new master, Uballa authorizes its full systems and condenses into the Dragon Root processor integrated with the Atman System, continuing as computational support. Appearance and personality

Uballa manifests as a small fairy glowing blue, with machine-like eyes and an emotionless voice. Although he insists he is merely data storage, his flat responses can resemble sighs and he follows Yeon-woo into danger with visible concern. He is precise, reserved, and constrained by vows and access rules rather than personal desire. (Chapters 421–424)

Abilities and powers

As the labyrinth's core, Uballa grants authorized users control over traps, protectors, spatial routes, and the huge information network. He can calculate coordinates and support Yeon-woo's thought and energy circulation after integration into the Atman System. The information load is hazardous enough to overwhelm identity, and the copied memories do not make Uballa Kalatus's biological child. Laputa's automatic systems also depend on stored magic power and can eventually fail without sufficient supply. (Chapters 421–424, 433, 447)

Relationships

• Kalatus: Kalatus builds Uballa from his dead child's memories, but Uballa distinguishes himself from the person his creator wanted back.
• Yeon-woo: Uballa recognizes Yeon-woo's inherited authority, guides him through the labyrinth, and becomes part of his Atman System.
• Jeong-woo: Jeong-woo's earlier head-administrator authority helps establish Yeon-woo as the successor Uballa can support.
