Troy is a senior member of the Eighty-One Oculus whose devotion shifts from the Summer Queen to preserving her remaining organization and, eventually, serving Waltz.

Biography

The Queen's eye hunts a cure

The Summer Queen sends Troy to investigate the Philosopher's Stone because every Oculus member depends on her continued survival. Troy and Tom secure the tablet fragments and lead Red Dragon through the ensuing auction war, but Devil Poison reveals that the apparent cure is compromised. Their failure is institutional as well as personal: because the Oculus borrow history and power from the Queen, her decline threatens Troy's own foundation and drives increasingly desperate action. A plea for mercy leads to another fatal mission

After the Summer Queen's fall, Troy follows Tom rather than the legitimate heir Waltz. When confronted, Troy admits that distant calculations blinded him to the person before him and offers up his own eyes if Waltz will spare the other Oculus members. Waltz accepts their return, and Troy later helps her infiltrate the operation against the One-horned tribe. The mission reaches Sesha, but the newly awakened Ananta reacts to the threat against her daughter and plunges a sword into Troy. (Chapters 445, 498, 610–611)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not give Troy a detailed standalone portrait. Troy is identified by the controlled posture of a high-ranking Oculus operative, prostrating before the Summer Queen and later keeping the head bowed while asking Waltz for mercy. (Chapters 222–225, 445)

Troy is observant, loyal to institutions, and capable of remorse. The “Hawkeye” reputation suggests long-range attention, yet Troy's own confession admits a failure to see immediate duties clearly. That self-awareness saves comrades but does not prevent another choice to follow Waltz into a mission against a child. (Chapters 223–225, 445, 610–611)

Oculus authority and borrowed history

As one of the Eighty-One Oculus, Troy borrows powers and history from the Summer Queen, making clan strength dependent on her Dragon Heart and continued existence. Troy acts as Mother’s Eye and helps lead other Eyes, but the chapters do not define a named perception technique or range. This shared foundation is a limit: the Queen's collapse damages the organization Troy is trying to preserve. (Chapters 222–225, 445)

Close combat

Troy can extend sharp fingernails and use them to massacre hostile Magic Tower scholars, establishing lethal close-range capability despite the Hawkeye title. The later attack relies on concealment and a squad under Waltz rather than individual supremacy. Ananta, although physically weakened after waking, catches Troy at the moment Sesha is threatened and ends the assault with an ordinary sword thrust. (Chapters 226, 610–611)
