Pepe

Pepe is the personal name of Freesia, not a separate character. The name belongs to Rhea's former maid and trusted retainer before she adopts the masked merchant identity under which she leads By the Table.

Biography

A name restored with an old duty

Rhea entrusts Pepe and Popo with separate duties before leaving Olympus: Pepe must preserve the Quirinale legacy, while Popo watches the Tower's lower world. Long afterward, Kronos still asks after Pepe and treats her as family, while the Black King identifies her as one of the people preparing materials for Scythe. The revelation that Pepe is Freesia explains why her captors seek the First Generation's Legacy and why she refuses them for ten years. Once rescued, she answers Kronos by the old name and guides the family to Rhea's treasury. (Chapters 606–607, 651, 728–739)

Appearance and personality

Pepe's earlier appearance as Rhea's maid is not described in detail. In the present, she is Freesia, whose face remains behind a wooden mask and whose controlled expression conceals intense loyalty. She notices that Rhea intends to leave but does not challenge the decision, accepting a confidential task and preserving it across generations. (Chapters 728–729, 736, 739)

Abilities and powers

The Pepe name does not denote a separate power set. As Freesia, she manages By the Table's cross-dimensional resources and can secure specialized materials, but her defining demonstrated capability here is custody: she knows the location and access route of Rhea's protected legacy and withstands imprisonment rather than reveal it.
