Nessie

Nessie is a sentient monster king of the Demonic Sea whose control over an Illusory World turns battle into a repeating sequence of death and restored causality.

Biography

The endless battle ends in forced retreat

Nessie blocks Yeon-woo's route to Laplace, summons the sea's monsters, and repeatedly rewrites their deaths so the injuries return to Yeon-woo instead. Yeon-woo abandons the idea of winning a prolonged contest, observes the breath that precedes Illusory Change, and binds Nessie long enough for Sword Thunder and Random Shooting to damage its conceptual foundation. Nessie begins restoring itself through its territory, but Bathory releases superior Lord authority and orders the wounded king away, forcing Nessie to retreat and defend its diminished rank. (Chapters 471–475)

A defeated enemy becomes a model

Nessie's skill leaves a lasting impression after the battle. Yeon-woo studies its method to widen the channel between his inner Illusory World and outward will, while Mother Earth's later law distortion reminds him of Nessie's ability to merge reality and illusion. Yeon-woo eventually judges that his growth has made a rematch winnable, but Nessie is not shown being killed; its latest state remains that of a surviving Demonic Sea ruler weakened by foundational damage. (Chapters 479, 491, 588)

Appearance and personality

Nessie is an immense long-necked creature whose outline vanishes into the Demonic Sea's fog. A single eye is comparable to a human body, and its aura shakes Yeon-woo's divine Channels before combat begins. (Chapters 471–473)

It is territorial, proud, and capable of deliberate speech and command. Nessie hypnotizes or intimidates lesser monsters into service, ignores retreat after being wounded by a mortal, and only yields when Bathory presents a power it cannot survive. These decisions establish a conscious ruler, not an owned monster. (Chapters 472–475)

Abilities and powers

Illusory Change

Nessie creates an Illusory World that merges reality and illusion, reverses causality, resurrects destroyed monsters, and transfers their suffering to an opponent. A deep breath precedes activation, giving Yeon-woo a narrow timing cue. The effect is strongest inside Nessie's territory and can restore its conceptual body, but Random Shooting damages the basis of its existence and Bathory's greater Lord domain can reject the rewritten world. (Chapters 473–475)

Monster command and environmental pressure

Nessie summons large numbers of divine-level creatures and suppresses communication between Yeon-woo and his Channels through sheer otherworld pressure. Some creatures obey from hypnosis and others from fear. This army makes attrition nearly endless, but its cohesion depends on Nessie's authority and Illusory World; once the king retreats, the encounter no longer traps Yeon-woo in repeated combat. (Chapters 472–475)
