Kranum, the Goblin King, is an unusually intelligent monster ruler who turns reports of Orc aggression into a bid to become king of the whole forest. The apparent opportunity is a manipulation within the Monster Outbreak, and his ambition ultimately brings him against Yeon-woo.

Biography

A false war offers the crown he wants

Kranum reacts violently when called a chief because he has long desired recognition as a true king. Although he suspects that reports blaming the Orcs may be incomplete, he chooses to exploit the anger of displaced monsters, rallies the Goblin leaders with charismatic speeches, and marches to kill the Orc King. The resulting war devastates the region and the players caught within it before both kings realize something is wrong. Yeon-woo then confronts and kills Kranum, whose remaining eye carries enough rancor to track the enemy responsible even after death. (Chapters 38–44)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not give Kranum a full physical description beyond identifying him as a Goblin who fights with a hatchet and leaves behind a usable eye. He is intelligent, irritable, ambitious, and charismatic. His insight tells him the crisis is suspicious, but desire for the forest's crown makes him disregard that warning and convert collective anger into war. (Chapters 38–39, 44)

Abilities and powers

Kranum has a ferocious aura capable of freezing experienced players and leads an assault that almost annihilates Arangdan's best team. His charisma unifies multiple monster groups behind a personal campaign, while his hatchet is accurate enough to kill a subordinate at the barracks entrance. After death, his rancor persists through his eye and can mark the killer for pursuit. The corpus does not explain whether that posthumous effect is innate or artifact-like. (Chapters 38, 41, 44)
