Edora

Edora is a princess of the One-horned tribe, the daughter of the Martial King and the Psychic Medium, and the warrior later called the Demon Beauty. Her exceptional Insight develops alongside the Yang Sword and the tribe's spiritual succession, making her both a powerful combatant and an unusually perceptive partner to Yeon-woo. She grows from the Tutorial's highest-ranked participant into a clan leader, a new Nine King, and one of the few people capable of remembering Yeon-woo after his assimilation into the Black King.

Biography

The Tutorial's First Rank and a Guest of the Tribe

Edora enters the Tutorial with the highest overall ranking, narrowly ahead of her older brother Phante, but she does not treat that position as permission to dominate everyone around her. After the Tutorial, she and Phante continue helping Yeon-woo, including locating him at Henova's smithy and easing the tension there while he recovers. Her quiet reading, composed manners, and willingness to assist without prying distinguish her from Phante's more confrontational approach. That restraint also lets her watch Yeon-woo carefully before deciding how far she is willing to trust him. (Chapters 18–30 and 64–68)

When Yeon-woo seeks admission to the One-horned tribe, Edora supports his candidacy and explains the tribe's fifty-one-family structure and succession disputes. She is anxious about the hostility of her half-brother Jang, yet she intervenes to prevent the conflict from becoming a political trap and checks Yeon-woo for injuries afterward. Examining his Black Bracelet, she identifies it as an ancient manacle probably forged from divine iron, infers the other restraints that would complete its set, and offers to research the tribe's library. Her conduct establishes the combination that defines her later role: loyalty expressed through practical protection, backed by scholarship and Insight rather than impulsive promises. Trust Behind the Mask

Edora and Phante later follow Yeon-woo's coordinates into the Demons' Forest while concealing their identities because their association with him has become dangerous. When a trial condition forces Yeon-woo to reveal his face, Edora is startled not simply by his appearance but by the vulnerability represented by the act. She sees that the mask has been part of the burden he carries rather than an ordinary disguise, and she comforts him without trying to seize the moment for answers. Her teasing affection is paired with a clear boundary: she wants to share what hurts him, but she will wait until he chooses to speak. (Chapters 193–208)

Yeon-woo eventually tells Edora and Phante that he is Jeong-woo's twin and explains why he entered the Tower under a concealed identity. Edora's earlier patience makes that disclosure possible; she responds as a trusted companion rather than as a princess evaluating a useful ally. Phante deliberately chooses not to look at Yeon-woo's uncovered face, while Edora accepts the intimacy of seeing it and the responsibility of keeping his confidence. The Demon Beauty and the Dragon Temple

By the time she leads Demon Beauty Castle, Edora has become a renowned warrior rather than merely the Martial King's daughter. The group has no rigid hierarchy, but its members gather around her as their practical center and adopt the name inspired by her title. During the Dragon Temple trial, her Insight perceives Kalatus' immense form and the laws embedded in the space, suggesting a possible route toward the Yang Sword's secrets. The Lion Alliance attacks because of her connection to Yeon-woo, breaking that contact and injuring her soul; her followers suffer heavy losses to carry her away, showing both the political cost of her loyalty and the devotion her leadership has earned. Edora awakens while her group is still surrounded and immediately returns to the fight with Divine Evil, refusing to let injury turn the survivors' sacrifice into defeat. Yeon-woo's intervention opens Kalatus' remaining message through her, after which she confronts the emotional distance between them more directly: she kisses him, thanks him, and spends the night with him. When Yeon-woo recounts Tartarus and Jeong-woo's condition, she listens and grieves with him instead of trying to solve what cannot be repaired by force. Her childhood perception of Allforone—aloof on the surface but exhausted and wishing to fall—also shows that her Insight reads suffering where others see only authority. (Chapters 409–416)

Inheriting Loss and Completing the Yang Sword

The duel between the Martial King and his brother places Edora between family loyalty and the duties her parents cultivated in her. She fears a bloodbath but cannot penetrate Faceless with her sight, and when Laplace attacks the Spirit Pond she remains beside the Psychic Medium rather than abandoning her assigned defense to reach her father. Badly wounded, she uses Divine Evil and repeatedly tries to recover enough strength to continue. Even when she senses the Martial King's death during the battle, she holds the line around her mother. She then performs the funeral rites in the injured Psychic Medium's place, turning private grief into the first public responsibility of the next generation. (Chapters 605–627)

Her mother's guidance helps Edora develop Spirit Contact toward Divine Contact and refine the Yang Sword, but the result remains only half of the tribe's paired ultimate art. Edora later becomes the Demon Beauty among the new Nine Kings and protects Sesha while Arthia's senior members are absent. During Yeon-woo's final clash with Allforone, she proposes surrendering her life and rank to become his familiar so that her faith and Yang Sword data will pass to him; Phante refuses to let family be reduced to a resource. Instead, Edora uses her truth-reading eyes to test Nocturne, entrusts him with the Yang Sword's pathway, and enables its union with the Yin Sword, which severs Allforone from the system without requiring her death. The Memory That Endured and a Restored Future

After Yeon-woo becomes the Black King's main ego, the world begins erasing him from ordinary memory. Edora resists that erasure through her psychic perception, retaining both his message and the emotional certainty attached to it even as Phante repeatedly forgets. She waits for hundreds of years, visits the cliff where he promised to return, and teaches later generations stories whose missing names the world will not allow her to speak. Near the end of her natural life, she recognizes Yeon-woo when he reaches back toward the world; taking his hand and insisting they no longer separate gives him an observable bond through which to manifest. Her constancy becomes an active metaphysical anchor rather than passive mourning. (Chapters 789–795)

When the wheel is rewound, Edora follows the Martial King to the returned Yeon-woo. Her Insight perceives both his expanded existence and memories of the abandoned world line, briefly overwhelming what her mortal mind can contain. Instead of demanding an immediate explanation, she embraces him and renews their relationship. The restored families arrange their marriage, and Edora is named the next Psychic Medium. Yeon-woo reproduces the wedding inside a controlled dream to trap Leo, but the original ceremony is real: it is paused at the bride and groom's bow while Yeon-woo secretly enters the Unreal World. Appearance and personality

Edora is a striking young woman with long light-purple hair and a single lamb-like horn obtained from a temple trial. She normally wears the martial uniform of the One-horned tribe and carries herself with the discipline of a trained warrior. In battle, the beauty behind her title contrasts with a cold, efficient expression: she swings Divine Evil without hesitation and can appear cruel to enemies who encounter only that side of her. Her calm public image does not mean fragility; even after a soul injury and coma, she wakes ready to protect the people still trapped around her. (Chapters 404 and 409)

Her defining trait is attentive patience. Edora notices small signs of fear or exhaustion, studies before judging, and gives people room to reveal themselves voluntarily. That empathy does not make her indecisive: she can take command, endure grief while completing a duty, and offer her own life when she believes it will secure the people she loves. Her greatest weakness is the same self-sacrificing loyalty, since she can undervalue her own survival when Yeon-woo or her family is at stake. Over time, Phante's refusal to accept her proposed sacrifice and Yeon-woo's return allow that loyalty to develop into a future she can inhabit rather than only a burden she must carry. Edora combines the One-horned tribe's martial discipline with psychic sight inherited through the Psychic Medium's line. Her signature Yang Sword depends on the same perception that powers her Insight, while Divine Contact extends that perception toward Ideas and divine beings. Her techniques become consequential enough to help defeat Allforone, but the corpus consistently preserves limits: she can be interrupted or overloaded, the Yang Sword is incomplete without its paired Yin Sword, and her latest status is successor-designate rather than a claim that she has already inherited every ability of the Psychic Medium. Insight, Spirit Contact, and truth-reading eyes

Insight lets Edora analyze the nature and structure of what she sees rather than merely magnifying ordinary vision. Early applications identify the Black Bracelet's material, original function, and likely companion restraints. At higher levels, she deconstructs illusions, observes an opponent's essence, perceives laws within Kalatus' Dragon Temple, and clears the tenth floor's Realm of Void at first rank. The ability is rooted in Ideas, allowing it to progress beyond physical observation toward the information and principles supporting the world. Its truth-reading form presents answers such as true, false, unknown, or indeterminate when she questions Nocturne, making it useful for evaluating intent without pretending to reveal facts beyond the available conditions. The Psychic Medium explains that Insight and Spirit Contact form the foundation of her office. Spirit Contact can evolve into Divine Contact, which permits communion with the tribe's divine guardian, while the further evolution of Insight into the Inner Eye would observe Ideas still more directly and support prophecy. Edora approaches or attains Divine Contact while improving the Yang Sword, but the corpus does not show her fully inheriting every stage of her mother's sight. Her perception can also fail against concealed beings and overwhelm her when it touches Yeon-woo's Black King-scale existence and the memories of an entire lost world line. Yang Sword

The Yang Sword is Edora's principal contribution to the One-horned tribe's ultimate paired art. She explains its method as reinterpreting the self according to the world's framework and becoming part of that framework, an approach naturally supported by Insight's critical observation of reality. Divine Contact and the Psychic Medium's instruction help her uncover and improve its pathway after the Martial King's death. Its disciplined alignment contrasts with the Yin Sword, which forcibly applies the practitioner's will to the world. This makes the two methods complementary expressions of perception and assertion rather than interchangeable sword attacks. (Chapters 625–627 and 681–683)

The Yang Sword is not an automatic victory technique. Edora cannot use it alone to overcome Laplace during the Spirit Pond attack, and the Psychic Medium states that one half lacks the force of the completed art. In the battle with Allforone, Edora transfers its pathway through Nocturne instead of trying to strike the system herself. Yeon-woo and Kronos combine that data with the Yin Sword to form the Bright Tai Chi Pangu Sword, whose opposing principles cut the information connections sustaining Allforone's office. One-horned martial arts and Divine Evil

Edora is trained in the One-horned tribe's swordsmanship, movement, inner-energy cultivation, and combat recovery. By the Spirit Pond battle, her accumulated martial and psychic development places her near the level of a divine being even though she remains mortal. She can continue fighting through severe wounds, coordinate a castle-sized faction, detect hidden observers, and turn immediately from recovery to defense when allies remain endangered. Her style is direct and efficient, but not thoughtless: Insight lets her assess an unfamiliar artifact, battlefield, or opponent before committing to a line of attack. Divine Evil is the sword most closely associated with her mature combat style, crafted by Henova as a masterpiece worthy of her developing art. Edora uses it against the Lion Alliance's encirclement and Laplace, channeling her practiced sword techniques through a weapon she handles with deliberate care. The text establishes its exceptional craftsmanship and Edora's reliance on it but does not provide a separate, fully specified supernatural mechanism that should be invented for the weapon. It therefore functions here as the instrument of her martial and Yang Sword practice, while her core power remains the perception and discipline that govern how she wields it. Leadership, scholarship, and endurance

Edora's non-system strengths materially affect battles. She can research ancient restraints, explain the political structure of the One-horned tribe, and interpret esoteric techniques well enough to preserve them as transferable information. Demon Beauty Castle follows her without requiring an inflexible formal hierarchy, and her soldiers risk themselves to rescue her because she has earned personal loyalty. She later accepts the duties of funeral officiant, protector of the Psychic Medium, guardian of Sesha, and one of the new Nine Kings, showing that her authority survives the Martial King's death rather than depending upon his presence. Her endurance is psychological as well as physical. Psychic ability preserves Yeon-woo in her memory when the world's ordinary records cannot, but it does not spare her the centuries of waiting or the aging of her body. She sustains the memory by returning to his promised meeting place and transmitting incomplete stories to her descendants. That persistence ultimately helps Yeon-woo become observable from beyond the world, yet it is relational rather than a repeatable combat spell. In the restored world line, she retains the benefits and emotional burden of perceiving the discarded history while choosing to continue her life with the people it returned. • Yeon-woo: Her closest companion and bridegroom. Edora gives him time to reveal his identity, shares his grief, contributes the Yang Sword data that frees him from Allforone, and remembers him for centuries after the world forgets.
