Nocturne

Nocturne is the Martial King's second disciple, an amnesiac man brought into the Tower from one of its outer simulations. He eventually learns that his starting body was made from an omitted simulation of Allforone, but he does not remain an interchangeable copy. His chosen name, lived experience, blue holy territory, and later decisions establish an independent person whose search for origin never fully resolves the ambiguity of what he inherited.

Biography

A disciple who chose his own name

Nocturne's earliest memory is the Martial King's back after being brought from a simulation outside the Tower's ordinary stages. With no remembered identity, he named himself after a composition associated with night and became the Martial King's second disciple. After clearing the twenty-first floor, he chose excommunication so that he could investigate his origin without binding the tribe to his actions; the Martial King accepted the decision solemnly, allowing his student to leave without denying their bond. The revelation and an independent godhood

Sword God later told Nocturne that the Martial King had removed a missing Allforone simulation and used it as a disciple capable of mastering a non-yang branch of his art. Feeling reduced to a laboratory subject, Nocturne confronted his former master and underwent exuviation. His pressure resembled Allforone's, yet his holy territory shone blue rather than gold and took the name Nocturne. The Martial King defeated him, proving that inherited potential and new godhood did not erase the gap in technique or experience. (Chapters 616–620)

Living with an unresolved origin

Nocturne later works beside Jeong-woo, travels through the Heavenly Demon's domain, and helps investigate the Li Tomb. Encounters with memories tied to Vivasvat and the Heavenly Demon make his origin feel immediate enough to unsettle his sense of self, while his actions remain his own: he fights as Jeong-woo's companion and continues searching rather than surrendering his name. The later identity material therefore complicates his connection to Allforone's source, but does not undo the separate life and godhood Nocturne has already formed. (Chapters 769–784, 801–812)

Appearance and personality

Nocturne first appears as a composed human martial artist whose restrained bearing suits his name. During exuviation, cracks of brilliant blue light spread through his body and open into a holy territory distinct from Allforone's gold. He is quiet, introspective, and strongly protective of personal agency. Learning that his body began as a simulation wounds him because it appears to reduce his memories and choices to someone else's experiment. Even at his most angry, however, he seeks an answer through confrontation and training rather than abandoning thought. Nocturne was trained in the Martial King's close-combat system and possesses the exceptional potential expected of a body derived from Allforone's simulation. His techniques include advanced forms of the Eight Extreme Fists and the capacity to pursue the Martial King's balanced sword path rather than relying only on raw divinity. His defeat by the Martial King shows that resemblance and talent are not substitutes for the master's accumulated understanding. (Chapters 616–620)

Exuviation and blue holy territory

Nocturne completes exuviation and transcendence during his confrontation with the Martial King, forming an independent holy territory filled with brilliant blue light. The pressure recalls Allforone because their origins are connected, but the territory bears Nocturne's own identity. It grants divine force and greatly expands his combat ability without making him identical to Allforone or automatically giving him complete control of the Tower's system. (Chapters 616–617)

Derived potential and practical limits

Nocturne's construction gives him the potential to approach powers associated with Allforone, while later memories connect him more deeply to Vivasvat's history. That inheritance remains a source of possibility and confusion rather than a complete transfer of authority. He can fight upper-level beings and cut the Bull Demon King's arm, yet still depends on training, personal experience, and allies; the Martial King can overpower him and tear off an arm immediately after his transcendence. • Martial King: The Martial King brings Nocturne into the Tower, trains him as his second disciple, and later defeats his transcendent challenge. Their bond combines genuine mentorship with the secrecy that drives Nocturne away.
