Brontes

Brontes is the eldest of the three Cyclopes, a divine blacksmith who works with his brothers Steropes and Arges. After Zeus frees them from Tartarus, they forge the signature artifacts of Olympus, including Astrape, Triaina, and Kynee. Brontes later supports Yeon-woo by restoring Dis Pluto's equipment, studying unfamiliar divine mechanisms, and applying a craftsman's eye to engineering problems beyond the forge.

Biography

Freedom repaid at the forge

Zeus rescues Brontes, Steropes, and Arges from Tartarus, and the brothers repay Olympus by forging three of its defining artifacts: Astrape for Zeus, Triaina for Poseidon, and Kynee for Hades. Brontes becomes a patron of blacksmiths whose name carries divine authority into mortal craft. The same history binds the Cyclopes to Olympus' wars and prisons, leaving their skills embedded in artifacts even when the society that commissioned them falls and their own freedom is threatened again. A divine signal leads to the brothers

The vestige of Brontes' power survives through his Apostle Aldin, whose lightning and holy power give Yeon-woo a path into the Cyclopes' hidden crisis. After contact is restored, Brontes and his brothers join the effort around Hades and Yeon-woo rather than remaining isolated remnants of the old Olympus. Brontes speaks with Yeon-woo after the player regains consciousness, then turns immediately toward practical recovery: rebuilding collapsed holy territory and repairing the depleted weapons used by Dis Pluto. Craft expands into engineering

Brontes follows Henova's work closely, sharing knowledge and examining the restraints associated with the Black King instead of treating mortal craft as beneath him. Later, he recognizes that the original giants' strength included logistics and engineering as well as combat, and admits that the Cyclopes once sought their camp-building plans. His criticism of the half-giant settlement is therefore constructive: by the latest appearance, he is applying ancient comparative knowledge to infrastructure, extending his role from legendary weapon maker to an active builder of Yeon-woo's wider order. Appearance and personality

Brontes is a gigantic one-eyed Cyclops whose scale and unfamiliar features make his first presence frightening to ordinary observers. As the eldest brother, he often speaks for the group and carries the physical solidity expected of a smith capable of handling divine materials. His appearance is imposing, but his later scenes place that strength amid tools, repairs, and construction rather than battlefield display. (Chapters 286, 363–367, 515)

He is blunt, industrious, technically curious, and proud without being closed-minded. Brontes judges poor construction sharply and can reject impractical demands, yet readily studies Henova's work and the giants' engineering when it offers knowledge he lacks. He measures people and societies by what they can build, maintain, and improve, making cooperation at the forge more important to him than ceremony. (Chapters 367, 381, 515)

Abilities and powers

Divine forging

Brontes and his brothers can forge artifacts fit for supreme Olympian gods, including weapons and armor whose functions express the owners' authorities. Brontes also repairs Dis Pluto's exhausted equipment and evaluates complex divine mechanisms. Such work is collaborative and resource-bound: the brothers divide tasks, rely on appropriate materials and facilities, and face a heavy backlog after holy territory and an entire army's gear are damaged. Thunder and divine Channels

As the Cyclops associated with thunder, Brontes can transmit lightning and holy power through an Apostle. Aldin's borrowed power attacks Yeon-woo's shadows and leaves a divine vestige that persists after the initial clash. The Channel's condition limits what reaches the lower world; when the Apostle is weakened or absent, Yeon-woo encounters only residual power rather than Brontes' full presence. (Chapters 307–309)

Structural analysis and engineering

Brontes' craft includes reading construction, logistics, and the organization behind large works. He can compare the half-giants' improvised settlement with the original giants' sophisticated camp plans and identify missing engineering discipline. This knowledge supplements, rather than replaces, his forging: the scoped record shows assessment and shared planning, not instant creation without labor. His latest state is active as a smith and technical adviser within Yeon-woo's forces. (Chapters 381, 515)

• Yeon-woo: Yeon-woo follows Brontes' remaining holy power to the Cyclopes and later relies on his repairs and technical judgment.
