Steropes is the most impassive of the three Cyclops brothers, a collaborative divine smith whose resurrection lets the family resume work that none could complete alone.

Biography

Death in Tartarus gives way to reunion

Steropes dies in a Titan attack before Hades's defenders can reunite the three Cyclopes, leaving Arges unable to recreate Kynee alone. Yeon-woo uses the Black King's death authority to summon Steropes's soul despite the ordinary laws governing the dead. Steropes initially struggles to recognize the situation and weighs the proposal carefully, but Arges's determination not to lose another brother helps persuade him to remain with Yeon-woo and resume their collaborative craft. A restored smith builds the giants' base

Steropes and Brontes later follow Henova to repair Dis Pluto's equipment and share ancient smithing knowledge. When Yeon-woo decides to restore the giant race, the brothers consider the plan absurd but accept their assigned work because he is Hades's successor and their benefactor. Steropes takes responsibility for constructing the base; power gained through Yeon-woo's growth and assistance from undead laborers lets him approach his living capability without erasing his status as a resurrected soul. Appearance and personality

Steropes has the nonhuman appearance of a Cyclops, the feature that caused the brothers' ancient imprisonment. His restored form emerges from shadow as a soul-based familiar rather than a returned mortal body. (Chapters 286, 315, 381)

He is thoughtful and notably impassive, showing surprise only when Yeon-woo produces materials rare enough to challenge even Hades. Steropes responds to extraordinary proposals with skepticism, yet family loyalty and professional responsibility overcome that reserve when work must be done. (Chapters 315–316, 515)

Abilities and powers

Collaborative divine smithing

Steropes helped create Astrape, Triaina, and Kynee with Brontes and Arges. The artifacts demonstrate divine-scale metallurgy, but their production is explicitly collective: missing brothers, Apostles, or materials reduce what any one Cyclops can accomplish. Steropes can evaluate rare components and pass knowledge to Henova, while the chapters do not assign every property of the finished artifacts to him individually. (Chapters 286, 314–316, 381)

Base construction

Within the brothers' restored division of labor, Steropes builds bases while Brontes focuses on fortresses and Arges on weapons. Yeon-woo's power strengthens the undead brothers, and Boo's workforce accelerates construction. This support expands scale rather than replacing technique, while continued existence remains connected to Yeon-woo's shadow authority. (Chapter 515)
