Sapasun

Sapasun is the Warden's canine head disciple, sent after Jack Rust during the Animal Kingdom's pursuit. His cruelty helps turn Jack's capture into a personal feud that ends in a public duel on Earth.

Biography

From the Warden's pursuit to the Earth duel

Sapasun appears among the Warden's inner disciples while Jack is fleeing the Animal Kingdom. He treats the hunt as sport and ignores the damage Jack has already caused to his faction. During the pursuit he attacks Captain Dordok, using rapid movement and a named shin-breaking kick to overwhelm him. Jack later remembers Sapasun as the opponent who broke all his limbs and mocked him on Hell; that defeat teaches Jack to keep his judgment during desperate fights. (Chapters 285–287, 293–295, 321, 334)

When Jack returns to Earth, the Church arranges a duel intended to let him defeat Sapasun without killing him, preserving the Animal Kingdom's dignity. Jack instead kills Sapasun and Maximus Lonihor, bringing the duel to an abrupt end and intensifying the conflict between Jack and the Kingdom. Sapasun's corpse remains in the arena afterward. (Chapters 299–303)

Appearance and personality

Sapasun is a canine cultivator with charred fur when he first meets Jack, a punishment for failing a mission. He is cheerful while hunting Jack but brutal in combat, treating an opponent's suffering as entertainment. (Chapters 285, 287, 294)

Abilities and cultivation

Sapasun is a fast close-range fighter who can accelerate into a blur and teleport behind an opponent. His named “Kick that Breaks your Shin” strikes with enough force to injure Dordok, but Jack ultimately overwhelms and kills him in the duel. His exact cultivation stage is not established in these scenes. (Chapters 294–295, 299–302)
