Role within Xiao clan

Xiao Mang’s arc is anchored by three connected developments. The opening establishes: “‘Fang Yuan looked at the image and immediately recognized this person: ‘So it was Xiao Mang of Xiao clan. He is an expert of the light path and possesses rank five extreme light Gu. In my previous life, he appeared on San Cha mountain, he came after all.’” (Chapter 389) A later turn adds: “‘Till now, Mo Wu Tian and Xiao Mang had not arrived yet. Tie Mu Bai, Wu Gui, Ku Mo and Wu Lan Shan were all killed by Fang Yuan, the final choice was Wang Xiao the owner of Wu mountain and killer ghost doctor Chou Jiu.” (Chapter 401) The final development states: “‘The light of the immemorial era at that time was formed using the extreme light Gu in Xiao Mang’s hands.” (Chapter 1039) Together, these moments show Xiao Mang acting as a gu master, with the outcome shaped by Xiao clan and the conflicts surrounding that role.
