Guarding Hei Fan's inheritance
When Fang Yuan enters Hei Fan grotto-heaven, the heavenly spirit appears as a brass bell, rings ten times to announce a qualified main-tribe inheritor, and guides the gathered immortals to Immortal Succession Mountain. Although the azure-heaven fragment has stripped away its intelligence, it still carries out Hei Fan's will: it recognizes inheritance qualifications, administers the stone-tablet arrangements, and controls the aid that binds the grotto-heaven's resident immortals to Hei Fan's rules. After Fang Yuan eliminates the competing immortals, the heavenly spirit accepts his sole vote, enables the true inheritance, and recognizes him as the grotto-heaven's owner. It cooperates while he removes the grotto-heaven's resources, but refuses the later transfer to Chu Du because Chu Du lacks Hei tribe blood. Fang Yuan answers that final act of rule-bound resistance by destroying the defenseless spirit in one blow. (Chapters 1128–1133)
Abilities
The heavenly spirit can sense and welcome an inheritor, signal recognition through its bell, guide visitors, operate Hei Fan's inheritance arrangements, and exercise the true inheritance's controls over resident immortals. Its decisive limit is mental: absorbing an immemorial azure-heaven fragment let heaven's will enter the aperture and made the spirit mindless, unresponsive, and difficult even for its owner to command. It follows inherited rules—including the bloodline condition—rather than adapting to changing intentions, and it has no demonstrated combat defense when Fang Yuan destroys it.
