The sword's hymn identifies it to knowledgeable cultivators. The Rain Celestial Sword was divided into four separate swords, including a serpentine blade held by Ling Tianhou. (Chapters 319, 324, and 972)
Zhou Yi as sword spirit
Zhou Yi becomes the spirit of a Rain Celestial Sword and controls its limited reserve of life sword energy. His bond is strong enough that Ling Tianhou fears bringing another Rain Celestial Sword near him. (Chapters 637, 638, and 639)
Inheritance and Qing Shuang
The sword carries the prior sword spirit's aura, while later discussion connects Zhou Yi's reformation as a sword spirit to Rain Celestial Lord Qing Shuang. (Chapters 641, 998, and 1052)
