Yun Yifeng

Yun Yifeng is a Gui Yi Sect core disciple who matures from a calculating cave-world challenger into one of the Heavenly Bull Continent's celebrated war cultivators. His rivalry with Wang Lin is defined by ambition, an honored blood oath, and an ability to accept the distance between them without abandoning his own path. (Chapters 1739–1913)

Biography

Tempering in the cave world

Yun Yifeng enters the cave world as the Gui Yi Sect's third-ranked core disciple and follows an older relative from the Immortal Astral Continent. Countless years of tempering and several fortunes make him much stronger than the young man who arrived. Calm under Wang Lin's origin-soul attack, he studies opponents instead of exposing panic, yet the Li Guang Bow frightens him enough that he is relieved he did not force its use. His caution coexists with a strong desire to prove himself. (Chapters 1739–1741 and 1764)

At the cave world's core, Yun Yifeng challenges Wang Lin to a direct battle without schemes or the bow. He stakes a Blood Oath that he will follow Wang Lin's orders in the core if defeated. Wang Lin's Heaven Ripping spell overwhelms Eight Blades Cut the Soul, and Yun honors the bargain. Still wounded, he attacks the Sovereign at Wang Lin's command, breaking seven blades against seven-colored light and forcing through an eighth. His willingness to continue after losing establishes that his pride includes keeping his word. (Chapters 1771–1773)

Returning as a leading disciple

When the cave opens, Yun Yifeng is uncertain whether the Immortal Astral Continent or Planet Five Elements is truly home. He leaves with the Five Elements group but tells Wang Lin that their larger contest is not over. Within years he becomes the Gui Yi Sect's foremost young genius, defeating Great Soul Sect disciples and elders and rising to first among the Heavenly Bull Continent's new generation. Yet when admirers compare him to the Eastern Continent's celebrated geniuses, he says there is one cultivator before whom he does not dare draw his blade—an acknowledgment of Wang Lin rather than false modesty. The Green Devil war

Yun Yifeng greets Wang Lin warmly when they reunite at the Gui Yi Sect. For defending a Heavenly Bull meridian, he receives a Gui Yi spell and the Slaughter Spirit Dagger, then joins the mission into the Green Devil Continent. The campaign turns reputation into proven service: he kills numerous Green Devil cultivators, raises Eight Blade Soul Slicer to a level recognized across both continents, and returns for the final battle. An imperial edict names him among the war's most conspicuous cultivators and summons him to the ancestral-temple trial. The recognition completes the promise implicit in his cave-world departure. He never catches Wang Lin, but the defeat gives him an honest measure against which to refine his own blade rather than destroying his ambition. (Chapter 1913)

Appearance and personality

Yun Yifeng retains the appearance of a young man even though he grows old during his long cave-world stay. He wears blue when he challenges Wang Lin. Ordinarily calm and cunning, he hides fear and thinks several moves ahead; battle brings out intense competitive pride. He is also oath-bound, respectful to sect seniors, and capable of genuine warmth toward someone he once sought to surpass. (Chapters 1739, 1771–1773, 1786, and 1882)

Abilities and cultivation

Eight Blades Cut the Soul

Yun Yifeng draws successive blades from black fog and overlays seven blade shadows into a composite attack whose structure implies an eighth edge. Two blades form its handle, four its body, and one its tip; the incomplete eighth supplies the soul-cutting culmination. The technique can injure elite opponents and becomes famous during the continental war, but Wang Lin's Heaven Ripping destroys its layered bodies, while the Sovereign shatters seven edges and wounds Yun before the last penetrates. Purple-monkey intrusion

By pointing into the sky, Yun Yifeng condenses purple light into a vicious monkey. On contact it becomes gas, enters the target, and leaves a monkey shadow between the brows, producing a tearing sensation inside the body. It is effective as part of coordinated pressure against the Sovereign, but the scene does not show it deciding a battle alone. (Chapter 1773)

Elemental armor and war rewards

As a Gui Yi core disciple he possesses the sect's elemental armor, which provides enough protection that the sect master rewards him with a spell and weapon instead of another suit. The Slaughter Spirit Dagger has nine thorns and a threatening aura, but its later mechanics are not demonstrated. His cave-world injuries and fear of the Li Guang Bow show that neither armor nor reputation makes him able to withstand every higher-tier treasure. (Chapters 1764 and 1882)

Relationships

• Wang Lin: Yun treats him first as a rival, then honors service under him after losing a blood-oath duel. Later he publicly uses Wang as the standard beyond the continent's acclaimed geniuses. (Chapters 1739–1773, 1786, and 1801–1882)
• Xuan Luo: Xuan Luo's presence terrifies the Planet Five Elements group and later guarantees, in Yun's calculation, that Wang will prevail in the cave core. (Chapters 1741 and 1773)
• Tang Shan: They fight together under Wang Lin against the Sovereign and later share the return to the Immortal Astral Continent. (Chapters 1771–1786)
