Yang Sen

Yang Sen is a peak mid Nascent Soul cultivator of the War God Shrine and Feng Luan's cultivation partner. He supports her decision to protect Wang Lin, leads the Hou Fen invasion of Xuan Wu, and supplies Wang Lin with defensive treasures that later preserve him against stronger attacks. Biography

Wang Lin's admission to the War God Shrine

When Wang Lin's assumed identity is exposed, Feng Luan offers to take him as an honorary disciple because he saved her junior Hong Die in the foreign battleground. Zhou Jin is unwilling to oppose both Feng Luan and her stronger cultivation partner, so he backs down. Yang Sen arrives as the peak mid Nascent Soul cultivator Zhou Jin fears, questions Feng Luan's decision, then bows to Wang Lin after learning what happened. (Chapter 136)

Accepting some responsibility for encouraging Hong Die's dangerous journey, Yang Sen gives Wang Lin a Nascent Soul-level defensive jade from which he has removed his own divine sense. The gesture converts Feng Luan's personal gratitude into practical protection and helps establish Wang Lin's place within the War God Shrine contingent. (Chapter 136)

War in Xuan Wu

Yang Sen leads a decisive attack during the Hou Fen sects' invasion of Xuan Wu. He crushes a mountain's protective light screen with one grasp, pursues the early Nascent Soul defender through teleportation, destroys her body, and prevents her Nascent Soul from escaping. The captured mountain becomes a foothold for the Hou Fen Union as it seeks land and spiritual energy away from the fire-beast disaster. (Chapter 137)

Later, Yang Sen evaluates Wang Lin's claimed battle record and probes the implausible speed of his rise to pseudo Core Formation. He accepts the explanation that a wounded enemy's core was devoured and points Wang Lin toward the gathering Xuan Wu army as the best opportunity to gain merit. He remains beside Feng Luan in later negotiations, although an unknown old man from the Sea of Devils easily pushes them away and demonstrates the limits of Yang Sen's realm. (Chapters 139 and 159)

Appearance and personality

Yang Sen is an elegant, scholarly-looking middle-aged man. He can be severe in war, destroying an enemy defender without negotiation, but he is respectful when acknowledging a debt and generous enough to part with a self-made Nascent Soul treasure. He is also observant and skeptical, noticing the inconsistency in Wang Lin's sudden cultivation rise, while remaining pragmatic when the evidence partly supports the explanation. Abilities and cultivation

• Peak mid Nascent Soul cultivation: Yang Sen is explicitly at the peak of mid Nascent Soul, above Feng Luan and Zhou Jin at their early stage. His presence changes Zhou Jin's political calculation before any battle occurs. (Chapters 136–137)
• Formation-breaking grasp: By reaching down with one hand, Yang Sen cracks and shatters a mountain-scale golden protective screen. This opens the position to the invading Hou Fen cultivators. (Chapter 137)

• Cultivation assessment: He detects residual core spiritual energy inside Wang Lin and tests the explanation for his pseudo Core Formation state. The result persuades him partially, though Wang Lin is still concealing the true source of his power. (Chapter 139)
