Feng Luan

Feng Luan is a War God Shrine Nascent Soul ancestor, Zhou Zihong's mother, and Yang Sen's cultivation partner. Her protection turns Wang Lin's debt to her daughter into a temporary place within the War God Shrine during Hou Fen's forced migration. (Chapters 136–140 and 1572)

Biography

A debt carried out of the Foreign Battleground

Feng Luan first enters Wang Lin's path through Zhou Zihong. After learning that Wang Lin had saved her daughter in the Foreign Battleground, she retrieves the copied regional map that Lin Tao had attempted to provide him and summons Wang Lin to her five-colored phoenix chariot during Hou Fen's evacuation. She does not excuse the body-possession and fire-beast crisis surrounding him, but she separates that dispute from the debt she believes she owes. When Zhou Jin tries to seize Wang Lin and argues that he is not truly a War God Shrine disciple, Feng Luan activates the chariot's phoenix defense, declares that Zhou Jin cannot kill him while she is present, and makes Wang Lin an honorary disciple. Her intervention is deliberately limited: she promises protection once, after which the debt for saving Zihong will be settled. That precise boundary preserves Wang Lin's life without making him a permanent dependent. (Chapters 136 and 140)

Migration, invasion, and conditional patronage

As Hou Fen becomes uninhabitable, Feng Luan joins five other Nascent Soul cultivators in activating the country-sealing array. The group produces six lotus manifestations and helps raise the red-smoke barrier intended to delay the transformed fire beasts while the cultivators and mortals escape into Xuan Wu. Survival then becomes an invasion for resources. Before Wang Lin joins the fighting, Feng Luan gives him one section of a regional map and makes the remaining sections conditional on battlefield results: fifty Foundation Establishment kills for the second piece and one hundred fifty by the war's end for the last. Wang Lin recognizes both the sympathy and the hard calculation in the offer. Feng Luan gives him an opportunity proportionate to demonstrated ability, not unconditional charity. When he later returns with a powerful unknown elder and asks to inspect the War God Shrine's Divine Path, she reacts cautiously but does not obstruct the request once another ancestor accepts it. Limits of local authority and departure

Feng Luan's authority is substantial within the War God Shrine but visibly local. When she, Yang Sen, and Zou Bin confront an old man connected to the Sea of Devils, a casual wave drives all three away so violently that their Nascent Souls nearly leave their bodies. The encounter establishes the ceiling of her early Nascent Soul power and reinforces her preference for measuring risk before escalating. Much later, Zhou Wutai reports that Feng Luan and Zhou Zihong left planet Suzaku and entered a sect in the Summoned River. The corpus does not identify that sect, describe the journey, or establish a later cultivation breakthrough, so her story ends with relocation rather than a fabricated final campaign. Mentions of a planet named Feng Luan in later chapters refer to a location, not to this character. (Chapters 159 and 1572)

Appearance and personality

Feng Luan is a middle-aged woman who wears a formal court dress and travels on a five-colored phoenix chariot, giving her the bearing of a high-status sect ancestor. She is decisive when a debt or family obligation is involved, yet her generosity has explicit limits. She protects Wang Lin, offers him a path to earn the map, and remains wary of powers she cannot evaluate. (Chapters 136, 138, and 159)

Abilities and cultivation

Early Nascent Soul cultivation and command

Feng Luan is explicitly at the early Nascent Soul stage. That realm allows her to stand among Hou Fen's nineteen Nascent Soul cultivators, command War God Shrine disciples, and deter Zhou Jin, who is at the same stage. Her standing is strengthened by her cultivation partnership with Yang Sen, a mid-stage Nascent Soul cultivator, but the text distinguishes his higher realm from hers. Her authority therefore combines personal cultivation, sect rank, and alliance with Yang Sen rather than implying that she can overpower every ancestor directly. The encounter with the Sea of Devils elder demonstrates the limit: an expert assessed at late Nascent Soul or higher can repel her group with a single motion. (Chapters 136 and 159)

Five-colored phoenix defense

When Zhou Jin reaches for Wang Lin, Feng Luan strikes the five-colored phoenix chariot. A five-colored phoenix manifestation appears, cries out, and spreads a field of five-colored light. The action is defensive and immediate, forcing Zhou Jin to withdraw his hand long enough for her to settle the dispute by taking Wang Lin as an honorary disciple. The passage does not state whether the phoenix is a spell, a treasure spirit, or an integrated function of the chariot, so its mechanics should not be extended beyond the shown protective manifestation. Country-sealing formation

Feng Luan can coordinate formation work with other Nascent Soul cultivators. In the Hou Fen border basin, she and five partners arrange themselves, form synchronized seals, and release six lotus flowers toward one corner of the basin. Their contribution combines with the other sect groups to raise red smoke into a hollow ring, forming the country-sealing array. This is a cooperative large-scale technique: the scene credits no single participant with producing the complete barrier, and its purpose is delay and containment during migration rather than individual combat.
