Xu Ting

Xu Ting is Planet Dong Lin's Xu-family representative and later a Vice Thunder Celestial. His talent, celestial origin, and slaughter-family arts make him a leading Allheaven junior, but repeated comparison with Wang Lin turns confidence into resentment and then fear. (Chapters 865–948)

Biography

The Xu family's roaming heir

Xu Ting enters the celestial bestowment as the Xu family's generation representative. Planet Dong Lin associates that role with massacre: each roaming heir is expected to leave slaughter behind, and entire planets fear provoking him. He immediately fixates on Xu Mu because of their shared surname and treats the trial as a stage on which to establish superiority. (Chapters 865–868)

His first display justifies the confidence. He turns black gas into a lance and serpent, devours the trial's golden giant, and is judged one of the strongest participants. During the thunder-lake test he isolates himself with black mist and remains after almost everyone else has withdrawn. Yet Wang Lin treats the same thunder as nourishment. Xu Ting stays beyond his safe limit because he refuses to yield, then accuses Wang of cheating when the thunder spirit drives him out. (Chapters 867–873)

Rivalry in the Alliance war

Seeing Wang Lin's ancient thunder-dragon authority and relationship with Qing Shui persuades Xu Ting not to provoke him openly, but resentment survives. In battle, Wang uses a position-changing spell to place him before incoming scarlet ripples. Xu Ting spends more than a hundred barriers, jades, and treasures, then uses blood escape to survive. Anger nearly makes him expose Wang, but he regains control and retreats—one of the clearest signs that he is dangerous rather than merely arrogant. (Chapters 874–927)

The second Battle Scroll

When Li Yunzi calls both men to view the Zhan family's second Battle Scroll, Xu Ting is already a Vice Thunder Celestial. Wang Lin's one-word rebuke reverses his blood flow and nearly collapses his celestial origin, demonstrating how far their power has diverged. Xu Ting nevertheless opens the scroll to seventy percent through unyielding effort, an exceptional result, before its beast spirit wounds him and takes back the source-origin fragment gained from the first scroll. His story is therefore not one of talent exposed as false. Xu Ting repeatedly performs at an elite level; what breaks his confidence is choosing an opponent whose unusual thunder bloodline, ancient body, and comprehension operate beyond the hierarchy in which Xu training made him exceptional. Appearance and personality

Xu Ting is a white-robed young man whose eyes often flash red and whose smiles become grim when he anticipates violence. He is proud, competitive, and prone to hatred, yet can suppress rage when survival requires it. His unwillingness to yield produces real achievements, but also keeps him in contests after tactical withdrawal would be wiser. (Chapters 865–873 and 926–948)

Abilities and cultivation

Celestial origin

Xu Ting entered the celestial pool, where his former domain melted and was replaced by celestial origin. By ancient standards this would make him a true celestial. The energy fuels layered family barriers and high-level spells, but can be depleted or disrupted; the scarlet-ripple escape consumes heavily, and Wang Lin's law-like rebuke nearly collapses it. Snake Devour

Black gas forms a lance whose head twists into an enormous slender snake. Against a weaker target, the serpent can swallow the opponent and convert the victim's power into Xu Ting's own. It devours the golden trial giant, but the stated lower-cultivation condition is an important limit: the spell is not evidence that he can absorb any opponent regardless of realm. (Chapter 867)

Black-mist defense

Mist released from between his brows forms a roughly thirty-foot zone that blocks thunder from entering. It withstands many escalating drumbeats in the thunder lake but almost collapses when the thunder spirit focuses on him. Pride forces additional output, and the defense ultimately fails, requiring retreat. (Chapters 871–873)

Xu-family barriers and blood escape

Xu Ting can spend celestial origin to generate more than one hundred golden barriers, supplement them with barrier jades and treasures, and chain them against an area attack. Repeated impact destroys every layer. Spitting celestial blood then enables a burst escape once the attack has weakened, but the method costs blood and origin and is reserved for a final emergency. (Chapter 926)

Battle Scroll compatibility

He comprehends the first scroll within four seconds and opens seventy percent of the second despite crushing battle intent. His unyielding will exceeds the usual forty-percent result, but the manifested beast still overwhelms him and reclaims his source-origin fragment. Compatibility gives insight and potential; it does not guarantee mastery or ownership. (Chapters 912–913 and 947–948)

Relationships

• Wang Lin: Xu Ting makes him a rival, then watches every trial demonstrate a widening gap. Wang later uses him as a shield in war and outperforms him before the Battle Scroll. (Chapters 865–948)
