Sun Zhenwei

Sun Zhenwei is the son of a Cloud Sky Sect outer elder and the intended cultivation partner of Li Muwan. His marriage is meant to bind the sect's alchemical and cultivation branches while advancing him toward the outer-sect leadership, but his surveillance of Li Muwan and Wang Lin ends when Wang interrupts the ceremony and kills him. Biography

An arranged cultivation pair

Sun Zhenwei is a late-stage Core Formation cultivator approaching the threshold of Nascent Soul. The Cloud Sky Sect values him as the son of an outer elder who may himself become an ancestor; if that happens, Sun is positioned to become outer-sect head. Pairing him with Li Muwan, a rank-five alchemist of the inner sect, would strengthen cooperation between both branches and keep her talent tied to the organization. Li Muwan opposes the arrangement, but Sun treats the ceremony as settled. (Chapters 217 and 224)

When Li Muwan senses Wang Lin nearby and tries to leave, Sun blocks her path while disguising coercion as concern. He later approaches Wang under the guise of a friendly future senior and gives him the Green Wind flying sword. The gift contains a monitoring function intended to turn an apparently weak Foundation Establishment disciple into a way of watching Li Muwan. Wang detects and seals the surveillance without alerting him. (Chapters 217 and 221)

Surveillance and the interrupted ceremony

Sun keeps Li Muwan under observation when she spends a month searching the scripture library for a way to open a pill seal. He uses a Cloud Order token to question hidden outer disciples, but her deliberately broad research prevents them from identifying her objective. With only days remaining before the ceremony and multiple Nascent Soul ancestors expected to attend, he decides that any ally of hers can be handled by the sect. (Chapter 222)

On the ceremony day, Sun welcomes guests in a long red robe and receives praise for standing near the Nascent Soul threshold. His confidence is undermined by persistent foreboding about Wang. When Wang emerges after seizing Liu Fei, Sun collapses in terror at the familiar voice. He shows hatred when Wang calls Li Muwan to his side, but cannot act before Wang's Ji Realm destroys his consciousness with the command “Die.” His father attempts revenge and is killed moments later. (Chapters 224–225)

Appearance and personality

Sun Zhenwei is a handsome, refined middle-aged man with a tall, straight posture. He habitually wears a gentle smile and cultivated manner, but anger and cold calculation surface whenever Wang or Li Muwan resists his plans. At the ceremony he wears a long red robe and projects a gentle yet cool bearing until fear strips away the façade. (Chapters 217, 221, and 224–225)

Abilities and cultivation

• Late-stage Core Formation: Sun can challenge Li Muwan's position through cultivation and is considered close enough to Nascent Soul that visitors predict a breakthrough within a century. The corpus never shows him completing that transition or fighting at full strength; Wang's Ji Realm kills him before physical resistance is possible. (Chapters 217 and 224–225)
• Surveillance and sect authority: The Green Wind sword lets Sun monitor its recipient until Wang seals the effect. His Cloud Order token also commands hidden outer-sect observers and grants access to their reports. These are institutional and item-based advantages, not innate sensory techniques. (Chapters 221–222)
