Sun Yun

Sun Yun is the former Seventh Brother and true disciple of the Heavenly Fate Sect's Purple Division. A prodigy whose achievements define the standard later disciples inherit, he eventually flees the sect, removes the All-Seer's mark, and is hunted down and devoured by his former master.

Biography

Rise of the Purple Division's prodigy

Sun Yun enters the Purple Division roughly a thousand years before Wang Lin's tenure and quickly becomes its outstanding disciple. He survives the Human trial for sixty-seven days, defeats both Zhao Xingsha and Chen Tao in the contest for the true-disciple position, and revitalizes the division around his reputation. At late Soul Transformation, he takes twenty-six steps in the test held for the All-Seer's birthday. Chen Tao later regards him—not any replacement—as the only true Seventh Brother, while an unnamed junior sister continues guarding the Purple Cloud Pavilion associated with him. (Chapters 478–502)

Inheritances and the beginnings of doubt

The Ancient Demon counts Sun Yun among only three people to receive its inheritance and judges his talent the highest of them, comparable to that of the ancient demon clan itself. In the inheritance's simulated or altered state, Sun Yun recovers clarity late yet still creates a spell of his own, evidence that his insight is not merely borrowed. He also receives the Celestial Slaughter Art. Later discoveries show that this inheritance accumulates slaughter energy until it produces a symbol the All-Seer can absorb, making the disciple's cultivation part of the master's hidden design. Betrayal, flight, and death

About a century before Wang Lin joins the division, Sun Yun is declared a traitor and flees. The All-Seer pursues him personally for a month, an exceptional response that demonstrates both Sun Yun's value and the danger of what he may have learned. Memories extracted from a mountain goblin later show a grey-robed All-Seer fighting and devouring Sun Yun, apparently with regret. A celestial guard corroborates the same fate, and later revelations about the All-Seer's method give the account its full meaning: Sun Yun does not simply vanish from the Purple Division; he becomes another gifted disciple consumed by the master who cultivated him. A legacy inherited by later disciples

Sun Yun's absence shapes Wang Lin's reception as the new Seventh Brother. The occupied pavilion, Chen Tao's refusal to accept a replacement, and repeated comparisons of talent make Sun Yun a presence in the division long after death. His purple Heavenly Fate Sword later appears in the Cloud Sea, embedded near an ancient tree and used by Du Jian as bait in a trap. Appearance and personality

The corpus does not preserve a reliable physical description of Sun Yun. His personality is reconstructed through other people's memories: fiercely talented, competitive enough to defeat senior rivals, perceptive enough to break from the All-Seer's control, and independent enough to flee despite the certainty of pursuit. Late Soul Transformation cultivation

Sun Yun reaches late Soul Transformation and performs twenty-six steps during the All-Seer's birthday trial. His sixty-seven days in the Human trial and victories over established Purple Division disciples place him among the strongest talents of his generation. Ancient Demon inheritance

Within the Ancient Demon's inheritance, participants pass through a simulated state that can obscure their true awareness. Sun Yun regains clarity relatively late, yet his comprehension is sufficient to create an original spell inside the experience. Celestial Slaughter Art and resistance

Sun Yun inherits the Celestial Slaughter Art, a method that gathers slaughter energy through killing. At an extreme accumulation, its strands can condense into a symbol that the All-Seer absorbs for himself.
