Sun Youcai

Sun Youcai is a late Foundation Establishment cultivator of the Evil Devil Sect who survives by robbing weaker targets, buying pills, and escaping through the earth. He tries to turn Wang Lin into a puppet for use against Li Muwan and Li Qiqing, only to lead Wang to a useful movement technique before dying in a volcanic encounter. (Chapters 130–134)

Biography

Hiding behind Wang Lin

Sun hides underground while Li Qiqing's party searches for him, then follows Wang so that the pursuers will confuse their trails. He introduces himself, claims that flight is his only goal, and suggests traveling together to the Ravine Workshop. Internally, he judges the apparently mid-Foundation Establishment Wang to be a safe victim. (Chapter 130)

Sun calls a pseudo Core Formation senior apprentice brother and proposes killing Wang, refining his body into a puppet, and using it to approach Li Muwan and Li Qiqing. Wang destroys the senior's soul with one word. Realizing his mistake, Sun uses Earth Escape and the speed technique in his legs to flee, while Wang deliberately keeps him alive long enough to obtain those methods. (Chapter 131)

Flight into the volcano

Terrified by Wang's effortless kill, Sun convinces himself that he is being chased by a Soul Formation expert. His underground escape is poorly suited to volcanic Hou Fen; he breaks into a lava cavern and encounters a fire beast with triangular eyes. Its influence overcomes him, and he walks across burning stone before jumping into the lava. Wang takes his storage bag as he falls and later studies Sun's Earth Escape jade and cultivation journal. No later scene indicates survival. (Chapters 132 and 134)

Appearance and personality

Sun Youcai has an ordinary face and notably intelligent eyes. He is sly, conversational, and careful to prey only on people he believes weaker than himself. His thirty-year record shows persistent opportunism rather than courage: once his assessment of Wang collapses, speculation and fear overwhelm his judgment. (Chapters 130–132)

Abilities and cultivation

Late Foundation Establishment

Sun reached late Foundation Establishment after roughly thirty years of cultivation. He funds progress by killing weaker cultivators, selling their possessions, and spending nearly everything on pills. His journal carefully records pill effects and desired recipes, but he owns few lasting treasures and never demonstrates a direct combat technique against Wang. (Chapters 131 and 134)

Earth Escape

Sun uses a refined imitation of the Five Element Escape Technique to move rapidly underground and conceal himself from ordinary pursuit. Heat in volcanic terrain restricts the route: he must sense and avoid lava, and panic causes him to enter a dangerous cavern. Wang later learns the technique from Sun's jade, confirming that the method rather than an innate bloodline produces the movement. (Chapters 130–134)

Speed and flight

By striking both legs and pushing off, Sun accelerates enough to catch Wang after Wang tries to leave him behind. He also rides a flying sword above ground. His speed is impressive for late Foundation Establishment but cannot break Wang's divine-sense lock, and the Earth Escape remains vulnerable to terrain and interception. (Chapters 130–132)

• Wang Lin: Sun uses Wang as cover and then attempts to make him a puppet. Wang kills his accomplice, pursues Sun, and takes the movement jades and journal from his bag. (Chapters 130–134)
