Song Tian

Song Tian is the Ancient Shi Grand Empyrean who determines the imperial succession from Origin Mountain. He initially backs Chi Man and dismisses Wang Lin, but direct evidence of Wang's higher law control makes him recognize Ji Du, guard Wang's first soul split, and later address him as the continent's strongest cultivator. Biography

Arbiter of the Ancient Shi throne

Song Tian's recognition is decisive in choosing the next Ancient Shi emperor. Ji Du repeatedly seeks an audience and is turned away, while Song Tian teaches and favors Prince Chi Man. The Grand Empyrean delays a final decision because Gu Dao's unexplained silence after Wang Lin kills the Ancient Dao emperor makes the political situation uncertain. He regards Wang as powerful but not personally worthy of concern. (Chapters 2007 and 2042–2044)

After a century of seclusion, Wang Lin releases Punishment Slaughter and a gaze that collapses the horn of Origin Mountain beneath Song Tian. Even then Song Tian hopes the display is limited. He sends divine sense inside a summoned ancient devil to inspect Wang's fusion of the Celestial Ancestor's head, only to witness direct manipulation of world law—a level Song Tian can only borrow through Grand Empyrean faith. Wang freezes the projection and nearly affects his origin soul. (Chapters 2043–2050)

Defeat, settlement, and repayment

Song Tian activates the Origin Array and takes up a soul-filled war axe, but recognizes that a full confrontation risks ruin. The settlement overturns his succession preference: Ji Du becomes the recognized heir, while Song Tian accepts Wang's new standing. He later admits that his first two interventions offended Wang and chooses to repay that debt rather than pretend it did not occur. (Chapters 2050–2053)

When Wang begins the Ancient Dao Three Soul Splits, Song Tian sits outside the ancestral temple and forbids approach within ten thousand feet. He guards the dangerous first split for three years, ready to intervene, then leaves once perfect fusion shows the immediate danger has passed. He continues observing later splits from Origin Mountain and is among the first to understand the disappearing halos and the eventual gift of soul blood. (Chapters 2052–2057)

Beneath a new strongest cultivator

Song Tian joins the Ancient and celestial Grand Empyreans investigating Wang's battle with Gu Dao and cooperates in Ji Du's time-reversal formation. Three hundred years later, he greets Wang as “Lord Wang” before the Immemorial God Realm. At the opening he manifests his sun to protect weaker Ancient cultivators from lethal sound waves, continuing to act as his people's Grand Empyrean even after personal supremacy has passed to someone else. (Chapters 2066 and 2082–2084)

Appearance and personality

Song Tian appears as a middle-aged man on Origin Mountain. His bearing is proud and imperious, and he reacts harshly when events threaten his chosen succession. He can nevertheless revise judgment under overwhelming evidence, repay an acknowledged offense, and protect weaker clan members. His later respect for Wang is pragmatic but not servile. (Chapters 2043–2057 and 2082–2084)

Abilities and cultivation

Grand Empyrean sun and faith

Song Tian is an Ancient Shi Grand Empyrean comparable to Xuan Luo. His sun converts immense faith and cultivation into law manifestations and broad protection, enough to shield hundreds from the Immemorial God Realm's rumbling. Like other Grand Empyreans, he can explore the edge of world law and make the illusory real, but initially cannot grasp and direct law as Wang does. (Chapters 2042–2051 and 2083–2084)

Ancient-devil projection

Song Tian tears open a spatial rift, summons a hundred-thousand-foot ancient devil, and sends a ray of divine sense into its brow. The devil becomes a remote body able to cross great distance and observe or act while Song Tian remains on Origin Mountain. The link is a vulnerability: Wang's Stop-like law freezes both projection and embedded divine sense, nearly transmitting damage back to Song Tian's origin soul. (Chapters 2048–2050)

Origin Array and war axe

The Origin Array draws on Origin Mountain and Song Tian's followers as a prepared Grand Empyrean defense. Its central rusted war axe releases innumerable green souls around him. Activating it is a costly escalation he associates with defending Chi Man's succession, and the corpus does not show it overcoming Wang's completed Grand Empyrean transformation. (Chapters 2050–2051)

Large-scale protection

Song Tian can spread his Grand Empyrean sun behind a large group and absorb environmental pressure that would rupture weaker cultivators' hearts and bodies. Even combined with two other Grand Empyreans, the defense grows burdensome as the realm gate intensifies, forcing lower-ranked participants to withdraw. (Chapters 2083–2084)

Relationships

• Wang Lin: Song dismisses, tests, and then recognizes him. Guarding the first soul split repays their conflict; later he respectfully accepts Wang as stronger. (Chapters 2042–2057 and 2082–2084)
• Grand Empyrean Gu Dao: Gu Dao's silence shapes Song Tian's caution, and their relative power is the standard by which he understands Wang's law control and later victory. (Chapters 2042–2051 and 2066)
• Ji Du: Song initially refuses him and backs another prince, then recognizes Ji Du after Wang's intervention and allows the succession to proceed. (Chapters 2007 and 2042–2057)
