Song Qing

Song Qing is the head of the Cloud Sky Sect's inner sect. Initially a pragmatic leader trying to protect his position, he becomes loyal to Li Muwan over the following century and is prepared to destroy his own Nascent Soul rather than abandon the sect to Zhan Bai. (Chapters 224–226 and 328–332)

Biography

Inner sect leadership

Song Qing presides over inner-sect ceremonies and manages exchanges of high-grade medicinal resources. When Wang Lin emerges as an unexpected threat, Song Qing first tries to send a warning and then changes to diplomacy when direct opposition appears unwise. The resulting confrontation brings him under the new order established around Li Muwan and Wang Lin. (Chapters 224–226)

Defense of the Cloud Sky Sect

More than a century later, Song Qing has become genuinely loyal to Li Muwan. When Zhan Bai attacks, Song Qing remains with the sect despite having an opportunity to escape. Drained and assaulted by insects, he prepares to detonate his Nascent Soul as a final defense before Wang Lin returns and stops the destruction. (Chapters 328–331)

Song Qing thereafter follows Wang Lin's instructions, seals the sect together with Liu Fei, and shares responsibility for its administration. He also tells Wang Lin the unwelcome truth about Li Muwan's failing lifespan rather than offering false reassurance. Later, he and Liu Fei obtain the immense quantity of ingredients required for Ouyang Zi's Return to Origin Pill refinement. (Chapters 332 and 337)

Appearance and personality

Song Qing is a white-haired elder. He is pragmatic and diplomatic when first confronted by superior power, but his later willingness to remain with Li Muwan and attempt self-destruction shows that his loyalty develops into real courage. He can also be bluntly honest when the sect's medicine cannot solve Li Muwan's condition. (Chapters 224–226 and 328–332)

Abilities and cultivation

• Late-stage Nascent Soul: Song Qing reaches the late Nascent Soul stage and can sustain a senior leadership role in the Cloud Sky Sect. He remains badly outmatched by Zhan Bai's assault. (Chapters 328–330)
• Nascent Soul self-destruction: While nearly exhausted, he prepares to detonate his Nascent Soul as a last resort. Wang Lin's arrival prevents the act, so the scene demonstrates resolve and destructive potential rather than a successfully completed attack. (Chapters 330–331)
• Sect sealing formation: Song Qing and Liu Fei jointly seal the Cloud Sky Sect under Wang Lin's order. The work is cooperative and administrative-defensive; it should not be treated as proof of a unique personal formation art. (Chapter 332)

Relationships

• Li Muwan: Li Muwan becomes Song Qing's sect master. Over a century, he develops enough loyalty to remain behind and risk self-destruction in her sect's defense. (Chapters 226 and 328–331)
• Liu Fei: Liu Fei is the outer sect head and Song Qing's counterpart in administration; they seal the sect and gather alchemical ingredients together. (Chapters 224, 332, and 337)
• Wang Lin: Song Qing initially responds to Wang Lin with fear and diplomacy. Wang Lin later saves him from Zhan Bai and entrusts him with continued sect management. (Chapters 225–226 and 331–332)

• Zhu fruit and Grain Pills: Song Qing handles a ceremonial exchange involving a Zhu fruit and 180 Grain Pills as part of his inner-sect duties; these are sect resources, not established personal treasures. (Chapter 224)
