Sima Mo

Sima Mo is the Heaven Breaking Sect's head disciple from eighteen thousand years earlier, later remade by the Sovereign as Master Simo. His token and hidden cave preserve the story of a gifted cultivator whose refusal to betray the Inner Realm is overcome only by a promise to restore his dead sister. (Chapters 1160–1431)

Biography

Exile from the Heaven Breaking Sect

Sima Mo rises from an ordinary village to become the Heaven Breaking Sect's leading disciple and intended successor. His tenderness toward his younger sister becomes lifelong obsession after violence destroys her life. He hunts her attackers beyond death and reincarnation, demonstrating how protection hardens into vengeance. Later he takes a beast bone and a group of sect members into a spatial crack, is expelled, and disappears. His teacher decrees that whoever returns the head-disciple jade may enter the sect under the current master. (Chapters 1160–1161 and 1428–1429)

The Seven-Colored Realm

Sima Mo leads his companions into the Seven-Colored Realm, studies alchemy and restrictions, and constructs a cave behind a Time Restriction keyed to his identity jade. The group suffers catastrophic losses. His records preserve the realm's stone tablets, dao processing, pills, and hidden danger; his remains and those of his companions show that the expedition never returned as itself. (Chapters 1184–1204)

Master Ashen Pine uses Sima Mo's reputation to bait his own party but initially leads them to a false cave. Wang Lin discovers the true valley through memories and opens it with the recovered token. The sealed chambers yield beast-soul pills, a furnace, and later the Time Restriction inheritance, making Sima Mo's failed refuge one of the expedition's most consequential legacies. Becoming Master Simo

Sima Mo does not simply die in the realm. A seven-colored nail strikes him, and he refuses the Sovereign's offer of survival and third-step power because he will not become an Outer Realm servant. The Sovereign finds the one promise that can move him: keeping an image of his sister beside him and preserving the possibility of resurrection. Sima yields, receives the name Master Simo, and suppresses his former identity under seven-colored control. (Chapters 1378–1429)

When Wang Lin fights Master Simo's avatar, he invokes the token, beast bone, expelled brothers, and the name Sima Mo. Ethereal fire feeds on the resulting conflict until the servant identity destabilizes. Inside the Emperor Furnace, Wang experiences Sima's memories and sees that submission came not from simple cowardice but the same attachment Wang himself feels toward Li Muwan. The recognition does not absolve Master Simo's later actions, but explains the leverage that transformed resistance into service. (Chapters 1421–1431)

Appearance and personality

As a youth Sima Mo is ambitious, affectionate toward his sister, and determined to make his life extraordinary. As Master Simo he appears as an old, high-level cultivator whose eyes and body can shine with seven colors, especially dominant purple. Pride in the Heaven Breaking Sect remains buried beneath the imposed identity and resurfaces as anguish when Wang names his past. (Chapters 1421–1431)

Abilities and cultivation

Third-step power and avatar

Master Simo operates at third-step level and can project a combat avatar across vast distance. The avatar retains enough power to threaten Wang Lin with Heaven Breaking Dao and joss-flame support, but it is not his entire body. Identity conflict and ethereal fire can destabilize it, showing that the Sovereign's remaking creates a psychological and spiritual fault line. (Chapters 1378–1431)

Heaven Breaking Dao

Sima turns earth black as ink and treats himself as a pen, drawing a world in which the target and planet become part of the image. A final stroke is meant to break the represented heaven and destroy what has been painted. The art belongs only to the Heaven Breaking sect master and head elder line. Wang interrupts the avatar by naming Sima's true identity before the decisive stroke. (Chapters 1378–1379)

Time Restriction

His cave is protected by one of the four great restrictions. The black field accumulates time and is keyed to his identification jade, which opens a controlled passage. Sima spends a century learning it but never reaches its true essence. Even so, Wang requires advanced restriction knowledge and increased cultivation to break later chambers, establishing both the technique's depth and Sima's incomplete mastery. Alchemy and beast-soul pills

Sima's group seals beast souls and refines them into pills whose fragrance and fluctuations can attract an origin soul. His cave contains valuable red pills and a large furnace. The products depend on captured souls, recipes, and protected storage; they are prepared resources rather than spontaneous battle spells. (Chapters 1184–1203 and 1222–1229)

Joss Flame

As Master Simo he opens a rift onto worlds whose populations kneel and worship, supplying joss-flame power to reinforce third-step techniques. The power depends on organized believers and thus exposes the scale of the system behind him. It amplifies his avatar but does not prevent Wang's identity attack from reaching the original Sima beneath the bestowed name. (Chapters 1421–1431)
