Qian Kuizi

Qian Kuizi is one of the Qian family's three ancestors and the figure who manages its ordinary affairs while stronger family members remain in seclusion. More than ten thousand years of cultivation have brought him to the Illusory Yin stage, but his encounter with Wang Lin shows that caution and political calculation matter as much to him as raw power. Biography

Bargain with Huan Wuqing

Qian Kuizi privately agrees to help his old friend Huan Wuqing in exchange for a treasure, explicitly acting on his own rather than on behalf of the Qian family. He initially treats Wang Lin as prey and tries to claim Wang Lin's Illusory Yin puppet. Although normally cautious, greed makes him underestimate the danger. (Chapter 683)

Qian Kuizi's spoken law produces runes and a linked net of lightning, but Wang Lin's Thunder Beast consumes the lightning. The sight causes Qian Kuizi to mistake Wang Lin for a messenger of the Thunder Celestial Temple. He immediately retreats, compensates Wang Lin with a bag of celestial jades, and severs the Qian family's involvement with Huan Wuqing. (Chapter 683)

He subsequently observes the conflict through divine sense. Huan Wuqing's use of Heavenly Chop and the appearance of the scattered devil reinforce Qian Kuizi's decision not to intervene. (Chapters 684–687)

Later reception of Wang Lin

Seventy years later, Qian Kuizi receives Wang Lin with respect and verifies the Thunder Celestial Temple token Wang Lin carries. He offers to place the Qian family beneath Wang Lin if Wang Lin reaches the Yin and Yang stages, treating the proposal as a long-term investment. He also gives Wang Lin half of the family's Celestial Ascension Fruits. His later fate is not recorded. (Chapter 710)

Appearance and personality

Qian Kuizi looks roughly forty years old, with a handsome face, white robes, and a celestial bearing. He has cultivated for more than ten thousand years without visibly aging. His behavior is opportunistic: greed draws him into danger, but he reverses course quickly once Wang Lin appears connected to a power he does not wish to offend. (Chapters 683 and 710)

Abilities and cultivation

• Illusory Yin cultivation: Qian Kuizi has entered the early second step and can wield origin energy. His realm gives him overwhelming standing among ordinary cultivators but does not make him willing to challenge the Thunder Celestial Temple. (Chapter 683)
• Words carrying law: His voice causes runes to form in accordance with his words, allowing spoken commands to shape an attack. (Chapter 683)
• Lightning rune net: The runes expand into tens of thousands of linked bolts that form a large net. The attack fails against Wang Lin because the Thunder Beast devours its lightning rather than because Qian Kuizi dismisses it voluntarily. (Chapter 683)
• Divine sense: He can watch distant high-level combat without physically entering it and recognize law-bearing techniques such as Heavenly Chop. Observation does not protect him from the fear inspired by the scattered devil. (Chapters 684–687)

Relationships

• Wang Lin: Qian Kuizi first tries to rob Wang Lin, then retreats after mistaking him for a Thunder Celestial Temple messenger. Decades later, he courts Wang Lin as a potential protector of the Qian family. (Chapters 683 and 710)
• Huan Wuqing: Huan Wuqing is an old friend who purchases Qian Kuizi's private aid. Qian Kuizi abandons the agreement once it threatens his family and becomes angry at having been drawn into the confrontation. (Chapters 683–687)
