Mu Bei
Mu Bei is a Core Formation elder of the Fighting Evil Sect's Wu Ding Mountain branch and the brother of Mu Nan. Ordered to stop Wang Lin after the slaughter of local sect members, he chooses cautious submission over a futile fight and is compelled to guide Wang Lin to the sect headquarters. (Chapters 150–152)
Biography
Encounter with Wang Lin
Mu Bei and Mu Nan are dispatched by head elder Qian Kun to intercept Wang Lin. After seeing nine corpses and recognizing the danger, Mu Bei pulls his brother back and greets Wang Lin respectfully instead of attacking. He answers Wang Lin's questions about the Fighting Evil Sect, including that its sect head is at the peak of the mid Core Formation stage and close to the late stage. (Chapters 150–151)
Wang Lin forces the brothers to lead him to the headquarters. Although they hope the sect's kill order will attract someone capable of stopping him, they continue obeying. After Wang Lin kills Jie Donglei and takes control, the brothers kneel and congratulate him as the new sect head. Their names appear in reversed or variant order in part of this sequence, but the context identifies the same sibling pair. (Chapters 152 and 154–155)
Appearance and personality
Mu Bei receives no detailed physical description. He is pragmatic and perceptive enough to recognize that an immediate attack would be suicidal, although his obedience is motivated by fear rather than loyalty. (Chapters 150–152)
