Master Void

Master Void is a high-ranking Brilliant Void Cultivation Alliance expert and the junior apprentice brother of Master Zhong Xuan. He pursues opportunity inside Celestial Emperor Qing Lin's cave, becomes consumed by his vendetta against Wang Lin, and dies under Sundered Night during his first Heaven's Blight. (Chapters 997–1075 and 1258)

Biography

Alliance authority and the lure of source origin

Master Void joins Ling Tianhou and other major cultivators entering the Demon Spirit Land, where his reputation gives him the standing of an Alliance elder and Master Zhong Xuan's junior apprentice brother. Inside Qing Lin's cave, he correctly recognizes a sealing method that extracts law from an opponent's spell rather than consuming the user's divine-sense avatar. That insight quickly turns into greed: he wants to capture the weakened Qing Lin and make the Celestial Emperor a controlled Alliance weapon. The same hunger governs his response to source origin. While attempting to comprehend a path toward the third step, he dismisses Wang Lin as an ant and leaves himself open to a carefully timed strike from a pseudo Nirvana Void iron sword. He protects himself with his origin soul and survives, but the source origin continuously invades him while he tries to study it, forcing him to divide attention between comprehension, resistance, and Wang Lin's attacks. (Chapters 997, 1028, and 1048)

A vendetta sustained through retreat

The failed ambush turns Master Void's contempt into focused killing intent. When Wang Wei, Hu Juan, Bei Lou, Zhou Yi, and Wang Lin pressure him, he invokes Alliance status, proposes delaying personal conflict, and offers to abandon claims on the cave's treasures in exchange for cooperation. The negotiation is tactical rather than conciliatory: he hides his hatred and waits for a safer opening. Once attacked, he creates a yellow vortex, releases a rotten purple mire, shatters Wang Lin's Vermillion Bird with cultivation alone, and repeatedly resists Bei Lou while looking for support from the All-Seer. His ability to survive several superior or coordinated opponents shows both power and calculation, but each concession narrows his options. A devil shadow later injures him severely on the ninth floor, leaving him pale, coughing black blood, and suppressing injuries rather than controlling the expedition. (Chapters 1054 and 1060)

Body Blight, Sundered Night, and enslavement after death

Trapped in a boiling ocean and facing destruction, Master Void chooses to trigger his first Heaven's Blight while already wounded. Starlight from the calamity temporarily raises his power enough to break free, but the Body Blight begins decomposing his body and origin soul together. Ancient Devil Ta Jia preserves and manipulates him as a potential scattered devil, leaving only his hatred of Wang Lin intact. Master Void becomes a maddened, rotting pursuer who attacks with corrupted blood and innards, unable to recognize the law forming around him until Sundered Night is already underway. The rising sun destroys the devil mark, his failing body, and his origin soul; his Alliance life token confirms the death. Wang Lin's Celestial Sealing Stamp captures the soul in its eighteenth hell. Thereafter Master Void is summoned as a combat soul and used with the All-Seer's fused avatars to attack enemies and refine the slaughter sword, reducing a once-autonomous Alliance elder to an instrument of the opponent he despised. (Chapters 1067, 1071–1076, and 1099)

Appearance and personality

Master Void initially appears as an old man with the controlled bearing of a senior expert. He is perceptive, proud of Alliance rank, opportunistic around rare law, and capable of tactical humility when surrounded. Body Blight later twists his features, swells and bloodshots his eyes, makes his breathing beastlike, and reduces his reasoning to hatred. His postmortem soul retains that ferocious, roaring aspect. (Chapters 997, 1028, 1054, and 1071–1076)

Abilities and cultivation

Peak Nirvana Shatterer cultivation

Master Void is identified at death as a peak Nirvana Shatterer and later as one of the All-Seer's late-stage Nirvana Shatterer avatars. His high-level origin soul is stronger than an ordinary cultivator's body: he can externalize it around his physical form to block the pseudo Nirvana Void iron sword, survive the initial impact, and split off an origin-soul avatar for independent combat. Raw cultivation lets him shatter Wang Lin's Vermillion Bird with a point, while his law perception lets him understand principles in Qing Lin's seal and recognize source origin. These feats do not make him invulnerable; maintaining comprehension inside source origin consumes most of his origin energy and divides his focus, allowing coordinated attacks and superior treasures to injure him. (Chapters 1028, 1048, 1054, 1073, and 1258)

Elemental spells, avatar, and treasures

Master Void forms a yellow vortex that sweeps forward and carries an earthlike quality when shattered. He also releases purple ashes that become a foul mire, though Bei Lou devours that technique before its full effect is shown. His origin-soul avatar can swallow a purple ice cube—a pseudo Nirvana Void treasure—and project intense cold while fighting separately from his body. The avatar costs him part of his origin soul, and even the treasure cannot immediately defeat Wang Lin's iron sword; repeated connected strikes dim and repel it. His arsenal is therefore varied and dangerous, but the cave battle repeatedly forces him to spend power faster than he can secure a decisive result. (Chapters 1048 and 1054)

First Heaven's Blight and postmortem combat soul

Master Void deliberately calls down the first of the five Heaven's Blights to escape the devil flames. The calamity increases his cultivation briefly but initiates Body Blight: flesh, blood, organs, and origin soul decay as one system until the soul dies. He can spit corrupted blood that behaves like a net and melts Wang Wei's ice, yet the power is inseparable from terminal deterioration and loss of reason. After Sundered Night kills him, the Celestial Sealing Stamp preserves his soul in its eighteenth layer. Wang Lin can call it through Magic Arsenal to charge targets or assist in refining, but it acts under the stamp's control and returns to confinement afterward; this is captivity, not Master Void's own resurrection technique. (Chapters 1067, 1071–1076, and 1099)

Relationships

  • Wang Lin: Master Void underestimates Wang Lin, survives his killing formation, and lets the resulting vendetta consume his judgment. Wang Lin kills him with Sundered Night and later deploys his captured soul. (Chapters 1048–1099 and 1258)
  • All-Seer: Master Void is ultimately identified as one of the All-Seer's late-stage Nirvana Shatterer avatars; after death, his soul is repeatedly summoned beside fused All-Seer avatar souls. (Chapters 1075, 1099, and 1258)
  • Wang Wei: Wang Wei dismisses Master Void's Alliance status, seals his vortex, helps pressure him, and later blocks his Body-Blight assault long enough to protect Wang Lin. (Chapters 1054 and 1071)

Items

  • Celestial Sealing Stamp: Master Void's soul is confined within its eighteenth hell and can be summoned by Wang Lin through Magic Arsenal. (Chapters 1075–1076 and 1099)
  • Purple ice cube: A pseudo Nirvana Void treasure swallowed by Master Void's origin-soul avatar to emit severe cold and contest Wang Lin's iron sword. (Chapter 1048)
