Hu Juan — Renegade Immortal

Hu Juan is Qing Lin's seventh disciple, a Rain Celestial survivor, and one half of the Celestial Cloud Cultivation Couple with Wang Wei. She designed the Celestial Emperor Cave's restrictions, spends tens of thousands of years seeking her teacher, and helps awaken Qing Lin and restore the Rain Celestial Realm. (Chapters 641–1124)

Biography

Waiting in the Demon Spirit Land

Hu Juan and Wang Wei enter the Demon Spirit Land with the All-Seer and Ling Tianhou, then remain inside one cave for tens of thousands of years. Together their cultivation can match the era's greatest experts, and their coordination makes even the All-Seer cautious. Hu Juan nevertheless presents a gentle contrast to those rivals, tempering Wang Wei's pride and interpreting Ling Tianhou's anger through concern for his disciples. (Chapters 641 and 659)

The couple spends the long confinement preparing for the day Qing Lin's cave opens. Hu Juan monitors Zhou Yi's progress through Wang Wei's Immortal Spirit Method and treats him with restraint because of his tie to Qing Shuang. When Zhou Yi explains how he protected Qing Shuang's body for millennia, Hu Juan responds with compassion and gratitude, helping establish that Wang Lin is an ally rather than a thief of the princess's remains. Master of the Celestial Emperor Cave

Hu Juan reveals that Qing Lin ordered her to construct the cave's buildings and restrictions. This makes her the expedition's central formation authority. She can strengthen defenses Wang Lin has partially understood, animate an entire floor's restrictions against Ancient Demon Bei Lou, and trap that demon for months when direct battle cannot kill him. Her control lets the couple negotiate from strength while still accepting temporary cooperation against the larger threat of Ta Jia. (Chapters 1051–1076)

Awakening Qing Lin

After the search reaches the Rain Celestial Realm, Hu Juan and Wang Wei help open Qing Lin's golden lock for a single breath and fight the All-Seer when he interferes. In the final temple she studies an unfamiliar soul-reversal formation, directs the placement of Qing Lin and Qing Shuang, and activates it despite uncertainty. The formation draws Hu Juan's celestial origin and sends her soul into Qing Lin's sea of consciousness. (Chapters 1108–1117)

There she reunites with Qing Shuang and her teacher, then willingly fuses her power into Wang Lin so Qing Lin can oppose Ta Jia through him. When Qing Lin awakens and reforms the Rain Celestial Realm, Hu Juan and Wang Wei finally complete the purpose that sustained their imprisonment. They settle in a palace together; Wang Wei's happiness is enough to make Hu Juan happy, preserving the partnership that carried both through the long search. (Chapters 1117–1124)

Appearance and personality

Hu Juan is a beautiful woman with gentle expressions and crescent-like eyes when she smiles. She often communicates with Wang Wei through glances and stands or sits beside him, their affection visibly warming even empty caves. Compassion does not make her weak: threat to Qing Shuang brings killing intent, and defense of Qing Lin makes her decisive. (Chapters 659 and 1051–1124)

Abilities and cultivation

Celestial cultivation and paired combat

Hu Juan's individual realm is not given a simple contemporary label, but she and Wang Wei together can match the All-Seer and other supreme cave-world cultivators. Their spells interlock naturally: her restrictions shape and hold the field while his rain, mist, and direct attacks exploit it. The strength depends on coordination; the text repeatedly emphasizes the couple working together rather than assigning every combined feat to either alone. (Chapters 641–659 and 1051–1124)

Celestial Emperor Cave restrictions

Hu Juan designed the cave's layered formations at Qing Lin's command. By drawing a blood rune she can awaken all restrictions on a floor, gather them onto one target, add perfectly to existing structures, and guide movement through otherwise lethal zones. Bei Lou can resist but is trapped for months, showing immense containment without guaranteed killing power against an ancient demon. (Chapters 1051–1076)

Golden-lock opening

Hu Juan covers Qing Lin's golden seal with numerous ghostly restrictions while Wang Wei divides mist around each one. Combined with thirty-five Nirvana Shatterer elders, the method suppresses the lock for one breath. When the breath ends, the key collapses and both are pushed back, making the opening a precisely timed breach rather than permanent unsealing. (Chapters 1108–1114)

Soul-reversal formation

She identifies a temple formation that separates soul from body, determines the placement of bodies and crystal, and begins activation with a seal. The formation consumes celestial origin rapidly and sends participants into Qing Lin's consciousness. Hu Juan admits the design is unfamiliar and cannot initially explain why it fails; Wang Lin's blood provides the missing trigger. (Chapters 1115–1118)
