Biography

The ascent of the restricted mountain

Ge Hong travels silently with Li Yuan and Wang Lin toward a mountain sealed by ancient restrictions. Once Li Yuan begins opening the route, she secretly asks Wang Lin to save her, calls Li Yuan mad, and admits she knows his visit to the Ge family had a hidden purpose. Li Yuan answers that she is the sole direct descendant of the ancestor who took his master's possessions and therefore the necessary target of his revenge. (Chapter 749)

Terrified, Ge Hong offers the entire bag entrusted to her: an ancient scroll, an iron sword, and a compass. Li Yuan accepts the treasures but does not release her. She runs down the mountain when he tells the group to continue, yet his restriction technique later pulls her back through a vortex and throws her before the celestial statue. (Chapters 749–750)

Sacrifice and the concealed lineage

Li Yuan says that Ge Hong's blood must appease the suffering of his family. He pours celestial spiritual energy into her until her body explodes into blood mist and the statue absorbs her origin soul. At the final instant, Ge Hong turns toward the statue with sudden understanding, but dies before she can explain it. (Chapter 750)

Her last look becomes the clue that lets Wang Lin reconstruct the true relationship. Ge Hong resembles the celestial carved in the statue and is descended from that celestial, while the Li family inherited a slave imprint that had been nourishing the master's sealed soul. The ancient conflict and the three treasures were therefore part of a far more complicated attempted resurrection. Appearance and personality

Ge Hong is identified as a woman and a direct Ge descendant; the corpus offers no full physical portrait, though Wang Lin later notices that the statue's celestial resembles her. She is frightened but not passive: she recognizes Li Yuan's purpose, seeks an ally through divine sense, offers every treasure she has, and attempts to flee when bargaining fails.
