Chi Hu is a Giant Demon Clan cultivator who guides Wang Lin through the collapsing Rain Celestial Realm and can transform into a thirty-foot giant. (Chapters 305 and 902)

Biography

Expedition through the Rain Celestial Realm

Chi Hu meets Wang Lin after the collapse of a celestial fragment and recruits him, under the alias Ceng Niu, for an expedition recorded by Giant Demon ancestor Xi Zu. He carefully selects Wang Lin for his wandering souls and Red Butterfly for her control of extreme cold, then mediates when the two nearly destroy the meeting fragment. Chi Hu guides them through overlapping fragments, glacial mist, void, and restrictions, using the clan's star compass to keep the party from becoming lost. Repeated crises convince him that Wang Lin is not merely useful but trustworthy. When they divide the gains, Chi Hu's respect and gratitude establish one of Wang Lin's rare genuine friendships. Choosing friendship over the ancestor

The Giant Demon ancestor later joins an ambush against Wang Lin and claims the star compass was stolen. Chi Hu secretly sends spiritual energy into Wang Lin while pretending to attack, blocks his own ancestor, and insists that the compass was a gift to a friend who saved him. The intervention earns a sentence of a century's confinement and body refinement, and it cannot stop the pursuit, but Chi Hu acts because abandoning Wang Lin would violate the honorable identity he claims. He afterward believes his friend dead and carries guilt despite having done all he could. (Chapters 368–369)

Duty to the Giant Demon Clan

When Wang Lin survives and comes for the ancestor, Chi Hu is caught between friendship and responsibility as junior sect master. He asks Wang Lin to leave; Wang Lin in turn spares the clan because of him. Chi Hu first helps activate the Heaven Passage formation to contact the hidden ancestor, then uses its twelve pillars against Wang Lin rather than expose the clan's hope. Wang Lin destroys the formation and declares their previous debts even, leaving Chi Hu injured by backlash. The choice does not erase their bond, but it ends the uncomplicated friendship of the Celestial Realm: Chi Hu proves honorable toward a companion and loyal to his people, even when the obligations contradict each other. Patriarch and reconciliation

Centuries later Chi Hu becomes patriarch of a rank-five Giant Demon country and late-stage Soul Transformation cultivator. His clan serves as a backbone of planet Suzaku, and its forces help protect Zhou Ru. Wang Lin returns to settle old karma without revenge. He gives Chi Hu enough celestial jade to pursue Ascendant and a vial of Lei Ji's blood to strengthen the clan bloodline, then tells him not to mention the past. Chi Hu can only watch him leave with the same unresolved emotion, but the gifts restore practical goodwill and affirm that neither man's conflicting duty has cancelled their earlier friendship. Appearance and personality

Chi Hu is a direct, physically imposing Giant Demon Clan man whose later appearance changes little except for an ancient aura. He takes pride in being honorable, plans expeditions carefully, and prefers equitable divisions to avoid treachery. His sincerity does not make his choices simple. He can deceive an enemy to save Wang Lin, oppose his own ancestor, and later attack the same friend when clan survival demands it. The resulting melancholy remains with him for centuries. Abilities and cultivation

Giant Demon transformation and bloodline

Chi Hu's clan blood manifests as an axe mark on his forehead and the illusion of a hundred-foot giant when he mobilizes it. Giant Demon cultivation emphasizes bodily force: by late-stage Soul Transformation, Chi Hu's physique and bloodline let him challenge Ascendant cultivators despite the realm gap. Earlier, the solidifying giant illusion is threatening enough to help stop Red Butterfly's attack. Blood purity is politically and mechanically important; the ancestor calls Chi Hu the junior with the purest blood and spares him from immediate execution for that reason. Lei Ji's ancestral blood can further strengthen the ability, which is why Wang Lin leaves him a vial during their reconciliation. (Chapters 310, 369, and 902)

Star compass and expedition logistics

Chi Hu carries a damaged star compass, one of the Giant Demon Clan's prized treasures, and understands the transfer jades and overlapping fragments needed to reach Xi Zu's hidden site. The compass crosses void where no transfer formation can be built, but its damaged condition limits range and makes repair necessary. Chi Hu therefore assembles specialists rather than relying on brute force: Red Butterfly parts glacial mist, Wang Lin's wandering souls handle the void, and his own knowledge links each route. His competence is strategic navigation, though the plan still depends on volatile allies and dangerous terrain he cannot individually overcome. (Chapters 305–320)

Heaven Passage formation and cultivation progression

As junior sect master, Chi Hu controls the Heaven Passage formation through twelve black pillars and the synchronized chant of the clan. The pillars converge on a target with body-crushing force; the Giant Demon ancestor can endure eight unaided or all twelve with spells. Wang Lin's three-star ancient-god body destroys them, and Chi Hu suffers severe backlash because he directs the array. He later reaches late-stage Soul Transformation naturally over centuries, remaining one step below Ascendant. Wang Lin's celestial jades address the resource barrier to that breakthrough, while Lei Ji's blood supports bloodline quality rather than realm energy. The gifts distinguish the two components of his future power: accumulated cultivation and inherited body. (Chapters 398 and 902)

Relationships

• Wang Lin: They become friends during the Rain Realm expedition. Chi Hu risks punishment to save him, later chooses clan duty against him, and finally receives Wang Lin's gifts as their old karma is set aside. (Chapters 305–326, 368–398, and 902)
• Red Butterfly: Chi Hu recruits her for the expedition and mediates her clash with Wang Lin, insisting on an equal division while relying on her ice technique to cross the glacier. (Chapters 308–313)
