Magic Slayer

Magic Slayer, later identified as Ursrook, is the Senior Demon commander whose anti-magic field and study of human tactics make him the western front's most dangerous pursuer. (Chapters 552 and 1169)

Biography

Turning anti-magic into pursuit

The Magic Slayer enters combat by stripping Maggie's transformation and disrupting the witches' aerial advantage, establishing that ordinary ability-based tactics can fail merely by approaching him. He later singles out Lightning and tracks the reconnaissance system built around Sylvie. Rather than spend his strength on indiscriminate assaults, he chooses targets whose loss would blind or immobilize Neverwinter's field forces. (Chapters 552–553, 1037–1044, and 1155)

Designing the Taquila counter-ambush

Ursrook prepares an Eye Demon host months in advance, uses a flying decoy to misdirect Sylvie, and arranges an ambush around the human special unit. The plan nearly succeeds, but Ashes becomes a Transcendent and sacrifices herself to kill him. His reconstructed letter survives the battle and warns the demon lords to treat humanity as an equal threat, so his strategic conclusion influences the war even after his death. (Chapters 1155–1168, 1175, and 1186)

Appearance and personality

He is a high-ranking demon recognizable as a Magic Slayer, but the supplied passages do not give a stable, detailed individual portrait. His behavior is patient, analytical, and ruthless: he studies systems, prepares specialized hosts, and prefers deception to a simple display of strength. (Chapters 1037, 1155, and 1186)

Magic and abilities

The Magic Slayer emits an anti-magic influence that suppresses witch abilities, including flight and transformation, while retaining the speed and physical force of a Senior Demon. He can direct airborne operations and perceive magic-dependent threats. The field does not erase physical attacks or make him invulnerable; Ashes's evolved close combat ultimately kills him. (Chapters 552–553, 1155–1167, and 1186)

Relationships

Lightning becomes a repeated target because her scouting threatens his plans. Ashes is his final opponent and dies in the attack that kills him. Hackzord receives Ursrook's last warning and carries it into the demon lords' strategic debate. (Chapters 1037–1044, 1167–1171, and 1175)
