Biography
A stolen heir finds a public voice
Echo is the daughter of the Osha chief in the Southernmost Region. After a rival clan kills her surrendered father, she is captured and sold far from home; in Border Town she turns a voice once used mainly for imitation into songs, controlled announcements, and crowd management. Those uses make her valuable without forcing her back into the violence that displaced her. (Chapters 98, 105, 224, and 242)
Returning south as Osha's leader
When Roland's southern campaign returns her to her people, Echo accepts leadership of the restored Osha rather than treating revenge as the end of her story. She negotiates the Wildflame clan's migration and helps anchor Graycastle's southern administration while retaining her connection to Neverwinter's cultural life. (Chapters 663, 720–721, 765–771, 820, and 859)
Appearance and personality
Echo is a tall Mojin woman with brown skin and features associated with the extreme south. Her captivity leaves her initially reserved and burdened by memory, but performance and reunion with her clan reveal dignity, empathy, and a willingness to accept responsibility. Magic and abilities
Echo can reproduce and place voices and other sounds, restrict who hears them, and build layered music convincing enough to immerse listeners. Her direct magical effect was initially classified within a short summoning range, but remote placement lets her address selected people without inciting a whole crowd; the corpus does not establish an unlimited range. Relationships
Roland Wimbledon gives Echo public work and later supports the Osha restoration. Iron Axe, another Mojin, helps connect Neverwinter's authority to the Southernmost campaign, while Lorgar Burnflame deals with Echo as leader when Wildflame migrates. (Chapters 224, 720–721, 768–771, and 820)
